Chapter 1: First things first

Katerina's POV

They always say that mates are everything we could ever imagine. That they're our soulmate and that as soon as we meet them, they'll be an undeniable attraction and need to be with them. Yeah whatever you say. (hint on sarcasm) I think that's all bullcrap. Now don't think that i'm one of those cliche people that say all this and then when I meet the "boy of my dreams" aka. my mate, i'll be all into that sappy, couply stuff. You're mistaken if you think that.

"Katerina, you better be up!" I hear Brody, my brother, scream. I roll my eyes and shake my head at my previous thoughts of mates. Ugh. I drag my aching body out of my glorious bed and make my way to the bathroom. My bed is always so much more comfortable in the morning.

"KATERINAAAA !!!" Brody screams.

"Shut up ! you literally screamed at me 20 seconds before, just take it easy" I screamed back. He opens my door and walks in, mocking me in a girly voice

"just take it easy" I narrow my eyes at him and throw my pillow at him. He just laughs and ducks before it hits him.

"We're leaving in 20mins. If you're not ready, be ready to experience a world of pain" He says jokingly. I smirk and reply dramatically

"Oh, in that case, I better get a move on" Then I walk in slow-motion towards the shower. He rolls his eyes and walks out mumbling something alone the lines of 'weirdo'

The names Katerina Moore.  I'm a werewolf and I'm a part of the Cresent moon pack. I'm daughter of the pack's beta and I have two brothers. Brody (17) and Kale (21). That's basically all there is to know about me.

I sighed, loudly and opened the car door. School time. Oh fun. I play with the hem of my converse shirt as I walk mindlessly towards the school's entrance. 

"Don't get into trouble on the first day back, dear sister" Brody says and smirks as he walks towards his friends. I roll my eyes and reply

"No promises". Today felt different. I don't know what it was. It was just this feeling that I had in the pit of my stomache. I couldn't determine whether it was a good kind of feeling or a bad one. As I walked through the doors, I could hear the normal banter between friends. I could hear the typical screaming the popular girls did when they saw eachother. I rolled my grey eyes and scoffed at their ridiculousness. I know for a fact that they saw each other two days ago at the pack barbeque celebrating the new year.

Even though i'm the beta's daughter, I chose to stay away form that crowd. They're what you would call the 'fakes'. And I certainly was not ready for the pressure of being one of them, nor do I want to be. The majority of this school is werewolves, but we still have some humans around. As I wandered to my locker, I hear my name being called.

"Kat!" I turn around and see Chris. I smiled at his goofy smile and walk quickly towards him. He hugs me and then throws an arm around my shoulders and kisses my cheek.
