Everywhere is calm and peaceful, I observe the whispering trees and whistling birds. The gravel path still listens even after centuries, to be honest this is the foundation of most first dates and make outs here in my town. Quite cheesy.

When I get home Zang speaks to me worriedly "Merelda, a new family has moved in".

"It's going to be fine zang" I say in my mind as I prefer to speak to her nicely when she's stressed "They're probably good people"

She rubs my back- this shows me she still has doubts. She's been doing that to me as long as I can remember.

"Is anyone home yet?" I utter as I try to change the subject. She shakes her head "Your sister won't be home until midnight, she has stuff to do"

"But why don't I get the chance to stay out like that?" I whine as Zang tries to contain her amusement.

"It's for the same reasons you decided to refer to us with our names" she replies slyly.

Arghhh! I hate that woman, she always has a good comeback-even though i know she doesn't mean this one.

I mean...I never call her 'mum' or refer to my siblings as my siblings- I call them by their names and always tell them we aren't family.

It takes a while before the whole 'family' comes back home. At the table Zang doesn't hesitate to talk about the new people.

Rip- 'my brother', sits opposite me on the table. I can't help but adore his good looks...he's definitely gotten the best Australian genes. I really think he's a fittie.

"MEL!!!!" Zang literally screams

"Your behaviour is really worrying- you can't go around fancying your brother".

"Chill Zang, I'm just appreciating his good looks...besides he's not my brother and he can always tell me if he's uncomfortable with me looking at him" I snap back.

"Woah!!! You clearly don't know where to draw the line. Rip's being too nice and polite for his own good" she replies ignoring my lashing comment.

Unfortunately, I've run out of comments and I just silently finish my dinner while I fantasize Rip and I strolling on the Australian beach.

"ESMERALDA!!!" she says in a deep harsh tone.

"Okay...Geez, can't one get a bit of privacy with their preference?" I ask wiping my hands and throwing the napkin on the floor before making a signature exit from the massive dinning hall- I swear I never get to finish my meal completely every single time, someone finds it helpful to piss me off.

I go to my room - my favorite place in the world. For some strange reasons, I have the biggest room. I love it so much plus every bit of it was chosen by me. I also have a massive closet because I'm so into trendy clothes. Anyways - You get the gist... My room is awesome.
....

The next day, I am up and ready to go to school.  I really hate waking up for school because I have to drive to school. I used to have a driver to when I was 15 but now everything's changed.

This is my second to the last year. After this I'll have to choose between going to my aunt Emily's uni or Zang's- everyone is expecting me to go to my mum's.
Tan, Rip and Ben- 'my siblings' are in uni and all go to Zang's.

Leah goes to the same school that I go to but I hardly ever talk to her. She's really weird.

I hang out with very few people because I'm really not social.

Today my first lesson was maths... my maths class is diabolical, my teacher keeps saying we'll fail our GCSEs. She hates my year so much and she really dislikes me.

After a few minutes, she walks in with a girl and boy.
She signals to them before he starts talking

"Hi everyone, this is Xan and Mal. They are transfer students and I'll love you all to treat them with courtesy even though I know half of you don't know what that word means"

No one even raises their heads to see them, they aren't even concerned, no one care if they came from the moon or not.

The girl walks towards the empty seat in front of me. She looks very tanned and has purple contacts.

Her hair was dip dyed brown and blonde, she didn't look like a sassy girl. Her clothes were well in season, and she was kind of pretty. I'd say she's tall and slightly curvy. I think she's the stereotypical rich girl with manicured nails and her clothes are trendy.

She walked up to me and sat in the spare seat in front of me. Her hair spread all over my table when she sat down.

"The name is Mal" she said with an American accent turning to me with a kind of arrogant but sheepish look.

There's something about her I can't place my finger on- it's like she's a whole new package of trouble. I hate to say this but I think Zang was right to worry.

"my name is Mel...nice to meet you" I reply as I force every bit on enthusiasm into my sentence.

My mathematics teacher who everyone considers disillusioned because of her belief that life is a fairy tale.

'Today we'll be learning and practising our algebraic skills' she utters graciously waving her hands in the air like she was orchestrating a choir.

Every other thing that happened in that class was nothing more than a blur for me.

I really like her hair, it's really stylish and unique...I might dye my hair that way some day.

I start to think of the only thing that excites me...RIP!!!. By the way I noticed that when he says my name his voice has his deep amazing tone. Urgghh! He's so bae.
