*Mona's p.o.v*

"David? How can he do something like that?!" I asked shocked. I never expected that David to be this cruel. Even though he treats us bad, deep inside me, I know he was a good man. But he proved me wrong. After what he has done, I promise I'll never let him hurt me and mom ever again. I have to Learn to fight back. "I just found out earlier. You know even though I never liked her, deep inside I felt she was a sweet kid. And she talked to me, she called me mummy. It made me feel like a bad person after all this years" my mum said "I'm sorry" I said "no Mona, I should be apologising to you. I failed you" she stated whimpering.  "It's ok mum" I replied consoling her.

I couldn't sleep the whole night. I cried my eyes out thinking what more life has to offer me. I guess it's destiny. Can I change it?. I stayed awake thinking about my happy times with Nicky. It hurts like very much. My head hurts badly. I doubt if I'll be able to go to school. Well I just have to, I can't afford to miss school since it was my final year. My disturbing alarm set off and I was just as shocked. It was dawn ?! 'This is just horrific'.

I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. Thirty minutes later,  I was done. I tied a towel round my body. My hair wad pretty damp but i couldn't care less. I walked back to my room to find mum sitting on my bed."morning mum" I greeted. I picked out some cloths you could wear" she said and tears filled my eyes. "Mum, you shouldn't have bothered." I replied "Mona, let me. I just want to be there for you. "She said "are you ok?" She asked "yes" I replied."come here, sit." She said patting on my bed. i walked  sitting down close to her. "Everything's going to be fine. I promise" she said and I smiled hugging her. We stayed like that for some minutes before she stepped out and I got dressed. "Bye mum" I mumbled " at least eat something!" My mum said. "I'm getting late maybe lunch" I said _you call 7 late?!_ my conscience spoke and I shrugged.

"Hey!" Daniel called running towards me. He rapped his arm comfortably around my shoulders. I flinched automatically away from his touch. " please Daniel  not now." I said my voice all so weak "why? What's wrong?" He asked "I lost my sister to some people I dont even know of." I said "did you find them?" He asked sarcastically. 'Was he even listening?' I thought "I don't know them there's no trace" I replied. "Sorry" he mumbled. "You look terrible! Are you even sleeping at all? You have dark circles" he stated "don't worry about me. I'm fine" I replied. "Fine is not the word" he said "whatever" I replied rolling my eyes.

'Attention all final year students of Jofay college, this announcement is for the upcoming ball party before your graduation. Please proceed to hall nine for more information'  "well, let's go?" He asked and I nodded.

_Two weeks later_
_Island grand palace, Austin Estados Unidos Mexicanos, puebla Mexico city._

Dan and I arrived  at the party at about 8:30 pm catching the attention of  many. The palace was breathtaking. So beautiful.  There were flowers all over, with Buffet at the corner. The light displayed multiple colors making it more......'I'm out of words... People stared at me as we entered. It was like  that 'all eyes on me' thing. I wasn't surprised duh? I deserved it. I wore this short sleeved black dress with delicate straps. It fitted pretty well and ended few inches below my thigh. On the top of it was a light tenuous soft fabric that led down to my toe. Enough to gain the attention of many. Daniel on the other hand wore this black suit with white inner, a black bow tie and a black pencil trouser showcasing the cool shape of his perfect legs matching the dress I wore. I had my hair in a messy bun... which made me look so -oh em gee....

Music was played and couples filled the dance floor. "Can I have this dance with my girlfriend?" Dan asked stretching his hands to me. I placed mine on his as we proceed to the dance floor. We danced for a couple of minute before I was tired. I laid my head on Dan's chest, and we continued to dance. It's been a long day. "Can we sit ? I'm tired" I stated and he nodded. "So what do you want for desert?" He asked. I looked at my phone and gasped. "It's 11 already. Let's go my mum maybe looking for me!" I said " no I have no plans of letting you go this time Mona" he mumbled "what?" I asked trying to read out his words "oh I said if you leave now, if I go home I'll be bored. Why not nets have some fun?" He stated. Can I say no? "Oh well ok just thirty minutes more" I said "ok that fine with me" he stated happily. "So what can I get you?" He asked 'why does he want me to eat this bad? That's weird' I thought."just get me some glass I'm thirsty already." I replied "ok just a moment" he said getting up "wait Dan, just sit I know your tired. Why not call a waiter? Dont stress yourself out" I said "can't I get a drink for my girlfriend? Ok let's put it this way, I'm your waiter. Are you ok now?" He said "fine" I chuckled
