I Did It For Love

Things were going on smoothly, just as i had imagined it to be. I took care of grandma pachie, cooked, clean, do the laundry, shop and do all the other chores. I asked how she stayed by herself and she told me that her granddaughter, Emanuele was taken away from her. I then remembered nick. And i felt tears build up bit then i had to control my self.

I wonder what nick is doing, what she's going through, where she is. All thoughts kept running in my mind. She said she was helpless and could do nothing. Emma was only 14, i wonder how she's doing" she said  "they told me that they were going to take care of her, take her to school and pay for her medications till she's okay, yes, Emma was sick before they took her.

I couldn't do anything to help her and till now it weakens me. She sounded pathetic and i couldn't help but feel sympathy towards her. Grandma pachie and i are just similar. I prepared dinner and helped her eat then took her to bed until she slept off.

I tried visiting my mother but to no avail as he wouldn't let me see her. Even after i told grandma pachie about my pregnancy, she still took care of me. She told me that she would like to see my baby grow up with her, and that i should never do anything to harm the baby. She told me that anytime i feel frustrated about the pregnancy, i shouldn't blame the unborn innocent child, rather Dan and i are to blame.

On Saturday morning, i decided to take with me grandma pachie to see my mother, regardless of what i think, David cant harm me anymore. We took a cab to my house and found the entrance door open. That was very unusual. "mom?!" i called but there was no response. I hurried inside leaving grandma pachie behind. "mom!" i called as i reached the dining area.

I saw my mom laying on the cold tiled floor with some tablets beside her. My mom was unconscious. "mom!" i shouted but she wasn't moving. "help!" i cried holding her in my arm as tears found their way down my cheeks. We manage to get help from people and then rushed her to the hospital.

The beep sound went on continuously in the room my mom were in. "its all my fault grandma" i cried "no my dear... Don't say that" she said. Just then a doctor came out and asked me to follow him to his office. I was scared that he would tell me my mom will die."have a sit please" he stated "doc, will my mom be alright?" i asked and he hesitated "Mona, your mom will be okay God willing" he said and i sighed of relief "but Mona I'm afraid that your mom is suffering from a heart disease.

She's taking over dose of her medicine and that can cause another damage in her system. Her heart is weak Mona but no need to worry, its not critical. I will just prescribe some drugs for her and she'll be okay. She would need rest and need nothing to make her worry, she must not get angry" the doctor said "thank you very much doc, I'll just get the drug" "okay" he said

My mom woke up later that evening. "mom?" i called as she opened her eyes slowly.  "Mona" she whispered "I'm here mom" i said holding her hand "and she?" she asked pointing at grandma pachie "oh mom she's grandma pachie. She took me in and is taking good care of me" i said "grandma pachie, say hi to mum" i added "hello. Your daughter looks just like you" grandma pachie said "thank you very much mom for taking good care of my daughter.

I really wish i could repay you for all you have done for my daughter." my mom managed to say. "its nothing Lucia get well soon okay" grandma pachie said and my mom nodded. "mom the doctor said you will be discharged today so we will go home together"

"but Mona" "no mom you are not staying in that house" i stated looking at grandma like i was asking for permission and she nodded "you are coming with me and grandma okay?" i said "no Mona you know your dad.... I don't want him to find you and harm you and my grandchild. Take me home and i promise to take good care of myself." my mom said. "but mom..." i started "please Mona just do as i say." she said and i nodded blindly.

Later that day, i took my mom back home. I helped in cleaning the house and made sure all that she needed was close to her. "don't stress out yourself okay?

Just call me if you need anything and don't let dad get to you." i said cupping her cheeks and she did the same nodding. "i will be back to check up on you okay?" i said and enveloped her into a light hug. We stayed like that before i thought of going. Leaving her like this makes me feel uncomfortable.

"go on now dear i don't want David to see you here" she said and tears filled my eyes. "mom...." i started "Mona please don't start" she said "I'm sorry mom. I'm not here for you" i said "its okay i understand it's not your fault" she said "i will miss you mom" i said "i will miss you too... Go" she  said as i ran out f the room "take care of my daughter for me okay?" i heard my mom say to grandma.

Later we returned back to the house. My heart ached as i thought of my mom. "don't worry, your mom will be fine" grandma said and i nodded a she gave me a light hug. "thank you so much grandma, for being there this whole while" i said "say no more child. You need rest." she said and i nodded and retired to bed.
