Long Time No See My Dear Cousin

       Previously in Lunarstar Academy....

"MATE" he said

Ugh..."TAKE A HINT DUDE YOU AREN'T MY MATE!!!" I screamed in frustration. Alex wrapped his arm over my shoulders and lead me back to our room.

ZACHARY'S POV
I had no choice but to stand there and watch my mate walk away from me in the arms of that stupid leech. Why is she denying our bond? I feel the pull, so she has to too. Right? I don't even know her name...I don't know anything about her actually. It was taking everything in me to not rip through the wall of guards and run after her. But I don't want to ruin my chances of her coming to her senses and excepting me as her mate.

"Bring him into my office." my mate's uncle said.

The guards closest to me grabbed me once again and dragged me into the room. It seemed more like a study than an office but I had more important things to think about. Like how my mate is probably in the arms of that blood sucking leech instead of mine. Just the thought of it was enough to break my heart. If she is my mate then that leech can't be her mate. So why does she claim that he's her mate and not me?

"So Zachary, you claim to be my niece's mate."

"I am your niece's mate sir. I feel the mate bond with her. I am unaware of the reason why she insists on lying and saying that she's mated to that leech." I responded becoming irritated with this whole situation.

All of a sudden he slammed his hands in his desk standing up. "Look; my niece is not a liar. If she says you're not her mate then you're not her mate." he said glaring at me the whole time.

I threw up my hands in surrender, "I meant no disrespect sir."

"Yes you did. You're hurt,I get that but you don't know Emily like the rest of us. You don't know her at all; which proves you aren't her mate."

Emily. My mate's name was Emily. I gave him a confused look"What do you mean? How does that prove anything?"

He let out a sigh "With vampires the mates have to get to know each other before they find out they're mates. It doesn't matter if one of them is a werewolf, demon, or vampire. In order to be mates with a vampire you have to know the on a personal level.

"So what are you saying?" I asked not wanting to believe what i was hearing.

"I'm saying you aren't my niece's mate."

ALEX'S POV
Once we made it back to our room Emily collapsed on her bed with a annoyed/ exhausted sigh. I chuckled and plopped down next to her and made myself comfortable. I looked over at her to see her laying with her arms over her eyes almost like when you get a headache.

"A penny for your thoughts?" I asked removing her hands from her face and turning her to look at me.

"This whole situation is just irritating. I never thought I'd say this but I wish i was bored." She said letting out another sigh. She then positioned herself to where she was lying on top of me "Distract me."

I looked at her and chuckled "How would you like to be distracted my dear?" i asked moving a piece of hair from her face. She rolled off me as she seemed to think this over trying to decide. I didn't want to invade her thoughts unless absolutely necessary. I don't want to get on her bad side and end up with another broken arm. I know it heals almost immediately but when its happening it hurts like none other.

"Read to me." She said finally making up her mind.

"Read to you. Why do you want me to read to you?" I asked sitting up.

"Because whenever i start to read you interrupt me; but if you're reading to me then you cant interrupt me."
she responded like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

As she handed me her book she found a comfy position with her head on my lap and her eyes closed. I flipped through the book finding her place and began reading. While I read to her i stroked her hair hoping it would help relieve some of tension and irritation from today. It apparently worked because it wasn't very long until she had fallen asleep. I carefully laid her head on the pillow so I could put her book away. She's very protective over her books. Learned that the hard way. I accidentally got some blood on one and she broke both my fangs. Took a week for those to grow back.

I figured she'd be hungry when she got up since we didn't get a chance to eat because of that pup. Gah! Just thinking about him makes me see red. What was he doing here anyway?! Who brought him? Maybe it was one of Emily's cousins. She said they were always starting trouble. She also said they were hybrids so that would explain what a mutt was doing here. I was almost to the fridge when some girl playing on their phone bumped into me.

"Hey watch where you're going!" The girl said.

"You bumped into me." I said in a matter of fact tone.

"Uh...well you..."

"Uh huh yeah just run along. I don't feel like dealing with you right now." I said. God she was boring. At least Emily always had a comeback. She always made sure things were interesting. They girl just stomped away like a child.
I rolled my eyes and went back to looking for the kitchen. It took about 15 minutes of wondering around until I finally found it. I gave out a sigh of relief and went straight to the fridge so i could get Emily some blood. I had just found Emily's favorite, O negative when I once again smelt that mutt. I'm just happy Emily wasn't here; she's stressed enough.
"What do you want mutt?" I asked closing the fridge.
"I want my mate leech. Where is she?" He responded in a bored tone.
I turned around to face him anger filling me. I took a deep breath before responding to his idiotic question. "I don't know where YOUR mate is. MY mate however is asleep in OUR room."
"And where would that be?"
"Lets just say if you show up there you will be leaving in pieces." I say walking out and heading back to my room.
EMILY'S POV
I woke up to the bedroom door opening and the smell of the mutt mixed with Alex's scent.
"Alex I swear if you brought that mutt with you I am going to break your fangs again." I said keeping my eyes closed.
I heard him chuckle and felt the bed dip down as he sat. I opened my eyes and he said "No, I sure as hell did not bring that pup here. I even went into a different room cause he tried to follow me." he said taking my hand helping me sit up.
After I found a comfy sitting position my stomach growled and I remembered I didn't get a chance to feed. He let out another soft chuckle and handed me a bag of blood and a straw. "I thought you might be hungry when you woke up so I went and got you this."
"O negative my favorite!" I said with a hint of a smile. I punctured the bag with the straw and drank half of it and handed the other half to Alex cause I'm 99.9% sure he didn't get to feed when he was down in the kitchen.
After we ate we decided to just hang in the room in hopes of avoiding the pup Zachery or whatever his name is. After some debating on what to do we agreed on playing video games. And I had almost beat him when someone knocked on the door. I was detracted which allowed him to quickly beat me.
"Dang it! I was so close!" I said n frustration while he held a triumphant look on his face.
I rolled my eyes and went to answer the door. I opened to door and was immediately grabbed by the throat and pinned against the wall by my cousin Dominique. Alex automatically went into defense mode at the sound of the attack.
"Long time no see my dear cousin."She said with anger seeping into every word. "What's this I here about you trying to take my mate from me?"
