Well hello Emily

  EMILY'S POV

        After we left Dominique and Zachery in the abandoned dorms, they haven't bothered us. Alex was still cautious due to the fact that whenever we don't hear from them in a while our life turns into a shit-fest. I can't blame him for being so in edge but I was going to enjoy the quiet while I still can. We were currently in our 5th hour, Mate Explanation. You'd think that this class was unnecessary, but believe it or not we only know that mates exist and what happens when we find them. The origin story about mates isn't common knowledge.

"Why did the Moon Goddess create mates of us?" one annoying blonde girl in the back of the class asked.

"Good question Jessica." Our teacher replied.

Ah, her name is Jessica. Now I know whose mouth I need to duct tape shut.

"Originally everyone was alone and that made it easy for us to fall victim to our enemies. Then two people, no one knows what species they were, met and drew power from each other. The Moon Goddess took notice of this pair and was amazed by the strength and happiness they had when they were together. She soon realized that all of her other  children were lonely. So she created mates to make us happier and stronger."

A bunch of girls in the class let out a chorus of 'AWWWWS' and 'how cutes' whereas I just rolled my eyes.  The teacher was about to start talking again when the school alarms went off. We were under attack! The class turned to chaos as everyone was trying to get out but the doors wouldn't open. I heard someone calling my name and I turned back to Alex squished between the wall and a crowd of scared girls. After he saw me he shoved the girls out of the way to get to me.

"What the hell is going on?" he asked once he had gotten to me.

"I don't know but-" I was cut off by some kind of gas coming through the vents.
        A searing pain made it near impossible to breath. Vervain. Everyone started to drop the the floor the vervain making  everyone lose consciousness one by one. Alex and I tried to use whatever strength we had left to get the doors to open. However, we were unsuccessful. It was soon after that Alex and I started to lose consciousness as well, but before my eyes closed I saw someone walk into the room. They looked around the room like they were looking for someone and when their gaze landed on me their mouth turned up into a sickening smirk. They made their way over to me and the last thing I heard before passing out was them saying "We're going to have so much fun with together."

        I don't know how long I was out for but when I finally came to I did not like what I saw. I was chained to the wall in some musty old room filled with the stench of death. The chains around my wrists burned like a bitch. For one thing they were iron and another thing they were obviously soaked in vervain. Whoever this guy was he certainly came prepared. Damn it, I hate it when they're smart. I tried to breath the chains which was a terrible idea cause all I did was burn the crap out of my hands. I heard a door open from somewhere in the room and the sound of sinister laughing met my  ears.

"Well hello Emily. I haven't seen you since you were a baby." some guy said from the shadows of the room.

"Why don't you come out where I can see you, you son of a bitch?" I sneered.

"Now Emily, I don't appreciate being spoken to that way." he said his voice making it very clear I was pissing him off.

"Eat shit." was all I said before someone grabbed my face forcing my mouth open.

"Let's see what we can do about that mouth of yours." he said pouring vervain water down my throat.
