I just stood there listening to his screams as his body burned, all I could feel was the heat hitting my face from the fire that had now completely enveloped the now silent Blythe Thompson. I thought that when this was all over I'd feel relieved, but I felt numb. He was gone it was over but I still sensed that we weren't done. Even though Blythe Thompson was dead, we all knew that his pack would want to avenge him. Blythe may have been the mastermind behind it all but he obviously wasn't alone in his endeavor. Someone out there will come for us, that much was inevitable, however who ever it will be needs time to recuperate and make a plan. We took their home base, we took their strongest pack members, and we took their leader and king.

"Emily... come on the sun will be out soon." Alex said pulling me from my thoughts.

I simply nodded and allowed him to guide back inside; followed by my mother and everyone else who came to watch this all unfold. It didn't take long to get back to the office. For a few moments  no one said anything until mom decided to break the silence.

"It's finally over..." she said letting out a sigh of relief.

"For now at least." Uncle Vlad responded "One day they will retaliate, and we need to prepare for when they do."

"How?" Alex asked "Do we just pull everyone from school?"

"I don't know Alex, but we can't just sit around and wait."

"Everyone just calm down!" I exclaimed "We wont pull the students from school, we'll just add extra training classes to the curriculum, okay?"

They all turned and looked at me nodding in agreement before silence fell over the room once again. Everyone was too deep in their own thoughts to make any noise. I couldn't tell you what anyone else was thinking, but all I could think about was what was gonna happen when word got back that the king of werewolves Blythe Thompson was burned alive. How were the werewolves at the school going to react? What will the Elders do? Will the news put Lunarstar Academy in a pit of absolute chaos?

I didn't have a answer to any of these questions. The only thing I was absolutely sure of was that I was never going to let anyone take me prisoner again. I was going to spend as much time as I could getting stronger, gaining more control over my powers. I was going to have Alex train along with me. We were stronger together than we are apart. No one knows when the battle will make its way to us, but I wasn't going to let it get here while we are unprepared. The next time we are threatened they won't take us by suprise. Next time we are threatened we will be ready. I will be ready.
