"Once upon a time lived a men and his wife. Their deepest and only wish was a child and after many years, praying and hoping, the wife finally became pregnant. She would sit at the window, singing to her unborn child, and look outside. The view was amazing, a huge garden filled with the most beautiful flowers and vegetables, but the garden was surrounded by a huge wall.

Every day the wife would go and look outside. Her favourite flowers were little green ones, and she would stare at them every day, wondering how they would taste. They looked so delicious that slowly the wish to eat them became stronger than anything else. She became pale and thin, with her thoughts only occupied by the plant. Worried about his wife and his unborn child, the man gave in to his wife's please to be able to taste the plant. One night, he climbed over the wall and stole the little plant from someone else's garden.

He was just over the wall, when he heard a scary caw, "How dare you intrude and steal from me!" In fear, the man pleaded, "Please, spare me! My wife, she is longing for your flowers so much, if she is not going to eat them she will die and with her our unborn child". An old woman appeared behind the wall and with the same raspy voice she demanded, "Take the plant and give it to your wife to eat, but in exchange I will get your child. i will raise it well, like a mother". The man agreed, to afraid and worried for his wife to consider.

The wife received some of the delicious flowers every day and when she gave birth to the child, the woman appeared right away and took the newborn with her.

The child was locked up in a huge tower, with no door leading inside or out. In memory of the flower that started the whole story, the old woman named the child after it.

The child's name was Rapunzel."
