"Don't stress honey. These are your old classmates, your old friends. They will still love you now just as much as they did before." My mother spoke softly into my ear as she tied the hair tie around the end of my braid. Closing my eyes, I sighed deeply. I heard her walk towards my door and stop. "Saru mo ki kara ochiru"

I smiled at her words and stood up. "Even monkeys fall from trees." Those were the first words my mother had spoken to me when I first told her about my pregnancy. The Japanese proverb became my support really. I heard it in every ultrasound, every judgemental look, every contraction and every push. Everyone messes up some times and even monkeys fall from trees. But now I see, what I originally had labelled a mistake is the best thing to ever happen to me.

"Ena, I'm coming down and I'm expecting shoes on and hair brushed." I announced as I walked down the stairs, faint frantic footsteps made me giggle as I turned the corner into the lounge room. I smiled at my daughter as she struggled to pull a sandal onto her foot. Tongue sticking out the side of her mouth, concentration clear on her face. Everytime I see her, I fall in love with her all over again. With large brown eyes, inherited from her father, and wavy brown hair; she was my world. I had no one until she came into my life, I had gotten used to it but now I couldn't see myself living without her. When I fell pregnant, I made the decision to move from Beacon Hills to start a fresh life. My parents came with to help with raising Ena, so we moved to the neighbouring town so Dad didn't have to drive too far for work.

On the short drive to Beacon Hills, my hands were shaking and I couldn't stop looking in the rear-view mirror at Ena. I watched her, as she looked out the window and pointed out different things along the beach. We had driven this road a thousand times yet she always found something new that fascinated her. Her ability to find something good in even the smallest of things inspired me.

"Mama, who are we going to meet again?"

"Some of mama's old friends, we won't stay long don't worry. "

"Will there be a playground?"

"No sorry love, probably not." I stifled a laugh at her hopeful question. Ena huffed and gazed back out the window as we came close to the familiar street.

"Will we see Oji Stiles?" Excitement encompassed her again as she bounced up and down in car seat.

"Yes actually, we're picking him up on the way."

"Thank you mama, Yay! He gives the best plane rides, you know?" I laughed at her adoration for Stiles. Surprisingly, we had stayed in touch after school as we both stayed in, or close to, Beacon Hills and had grown rather close. So close in fact, that he was godfather to my child. Him being there is the only thing that's keeping me somewhat calm about this afternoon. We arrived at the small house and Ena kicked her legs in the air with glee as she saw her beloved idol walk through the door towards the car.

"Can he sit back here with me?! There's lots of room!"

"You'll have to ask him" I replied while I reached back and wound down her window.

"Hey Glitterbug! Didn't know you were coming along!" Stiles grinned at Ena as he leant in through the open window.

"Yeah yeah! Wanna sit back here with me?" Stiles nodded and leaned into my window next.

"Hey, how you going? Why's Ena coming?" He kissed my cheek and proceeded to climb into the back seat beside my now ecstatic daughter.

"Both of my parents had to work and so did your dad. Plus, you know how i feel about sitters. I'd rather her with me than with some stranger." Stiles sensed that my nervousness and stress wasn't only about the idea of a babysitter, reaching over and rubbing my arm as I pulled back onto the road.

"Don't stress, they're our friends remember? They're not going to judge." He smiled at me and sat back in his chair. With him entertaining Ena, various situations of how today could turn out ran wild through my head. They may not even talk to me once they see her. They might shun me out of the group and turn Stiles against me. They might steal her when I'm not looking and kill her. What if Malia has gone out of control and tries to EAT HER?! Oh my god what am I even thinking going to this, I need to turn around.

"We're here!" Exclaimed two voices from the back, snapping me out of my insane trance. Too late now I guess. I Pulled over onto the side of the road and closed my eyes. I heard belts undoing but I just sat there mentally preparing myself to deal with the sh*tstorm coming my way in a few minutes. Maybe I could just drop Stiles off and then head back home? And cuddle up with Ena on my bed and watch Lachy Wiggle on tv all day. And when Ena falls asleep, stealthily switch it over to Arrow. Sounds perfect, let's do it, gotta go.

"Kira." My door opened as did my eyes to see Stiles standing with Ena clung to his side and his hand out for me to grasp. God, he was perfect; a great friend to me and my daughter, why couldn't he be her father? He was there whenever I needed him and whenever Ena needed him, his father was constantly willing to care for us, we'd be the perfect family.

"Come on; better to get it over with. We can leave early and go for ice-cream!" my daughter cheered in agreement, as Stiles pulled me from the car,"And by ice-cream I mean alcohol." He whispered the last bit into my ear, making the back of my neck hot while I giggled.

"Here goes nothing." I mumbled, grabbing Ena's spare hand as we waltzed towards the park.
