Scary Riddle - The Landlord

Recently, something has felt off in my apartment. Has anything changed…? I can’t really put my finger on anything specific, but…
Well, sometimes I’ll find the remote control in the fridge. You know, things that just make you go “Huh?” because of the randomness of it.
I asked my boyfriend about it, and he just said it’s all in my head.
But I began to wonder if the person who lived here before me was coming in and moving things around. I got scared, so I asked the landlord about it.
He seemed relieved somehow and called the former tenant about the situation.
“You didn’t make any extra copies of your keys that you kept, did you?” he asked them, and then told me to get a new lock installed if I was worried.
Of course I was scared, so I had him install the new lock.
