Hey guys! Welcome back! This is part two of Kai and Amelia's adventure! (: Again, the italic parts were written by Evan.

It had been a month since Kai and Amelia had returned back to their home in Rush Valley. Amelia finally bought a real house and lived down the street from Kai's automail shop. It was a sunny afternoon and Amelia sat on her roof looking over the city. I reach into my pocket and pull out a picture of my mother. "I will find who did this to you...I promise."  It was a long day. The automail shop was a mess, papers everywhere, wrenches, nuts, bolts, and various automail parts were laying on the floor. Kai sits at his workstation, repairing his automail arm. "Damn...today was busy." He screws in a screw and winces a little. "My nerves in my arm aren't liking the automail..." I tuck the picture back into my pocket and jump down from the roof. I stick my hands into my pockets and walk over to the shop. "Knock knock," I say slightly opening the door.

"Hey, Amelia." He sighs and continue to work on his arm.

I sit down in front of him and play with some lose bolts on the table. "I have some news."

"What type of news?"He looks at me.

"Well good and bad news I suppose," I lean my arm on the table and rest my chin in the palm of my hand. "I'm traveling to Xing tomorrow."

"Xing?! Why?!"

"I found a lead on my mother's death. I have to go check it out," I stand up and walk toward the door. "I leave in the morning,"

He frowns. "Well, I guess I better get packing."

A small smile crosses my lips. "You don't have to come all that way you know."

"What else am I gonna do?" He smirks.

I smile. "Right then, we leave at dawn."

"Okay." He finishes fixing his arm and throws the screwdriver on the ground. "Today was a really long day." I walk out and go back to the house. I grab a big bag from the closet and throw some clothes into it, not bothering to fold them. I toss the picture in as well. "This could be it," I smile. "I'll finally get what i've been looking for."

He watches me leave and goes to the spiral staircase up to his room. "It would be best if you stayed here Sage." He says to the puppy. I sit down on the stairs and stare at the suitecase. Flashbacks of my mother slide in and out of my head. I close my eyes and take a deep breathe.

"Emmy, darling come here please," My mothers voice was sweet and inviting. I walk over to her and she traps me in the warmth of her arms, her perfume tearing into me. "Dear, I want you to go outside and play for a little bit before your party."

"Okay, mommy." I smiled and ran outside.

My father appeared at my mothers side and wrapped his arms around her waste. "It's hard to believe she's already 5," he smiled. My mother nodded. "She's growing up too fast, Lin." He kissed her cheek. "Let's enjoy our time with her while we can." That was the last thing I remember before the fire. I open my eyes and see that my hands are shaking. "Damn it.." I ball up my fists and stand up. "Why her..why did it have to be her..?" I send my fist through the wall.

Kai knocks on the door. "Hey, is everything okay?"

I look down at my bloody hand and at the wall. "Uh, yeah everything's fine."

He opens the door and walks in. "Everything doesn't look fine." He drops his backpack on the ground and walk over to me.

I sigh and look down at my hand. "I'm fine really."
