Screaming. Smiles. Drinks.

It was Ashton's nineteenth birthday party - Luke's was tomorrow. They took the two days off - none of them had exams those days anyway.

They'd had a calm party earlier on, but now it was just the four of them and few mutual friends they had, and their significant others. It was a small party in Ashton's home, since his mother and siblings were on a cruise until school ended.

Ashton was jumping around with his friends, singing and dancing to the music. They were all tipsy, not enough to have a hangover, though - just enough to make them let loose and have fun.

Calum was smiling goofily, along with Ashton. Michael was watching Luke make a fool of himself - he was dancing on a table ridiculously, causing laughter to ring throughout the house. He looked cute to Michael, sliding around and making big gestures, spinning, and finally saw Michael smiling up at him. He extended his hand, inviting Michael up. He shook his head, causing Luke to grab his shirt anyway and pull him up, spinning him around. He laughed along with the rest of the people there, and enjoying himself. The music was loud, but not too loud, the drinks were only enough to get them tipsy, not wasted, and there was just enough people they loved to make it a great party.

The four boys had also brought their instruments, in case Luke wanted to play one of his songs they'd practiced endlessly. Along with their other special talents, they were all musicians - Michael on guitar, Luke with his vocals, Calum on the bass, and Ashton with his drums. But it was only eleven and the party had just started - they wouldn't do that until midnight.

So Luke and Michael danced on the table, entertaining everyone, especially when Michael stumbled and fell off. He was fine, Luke made sure of that before he started laughing, and went to help him back up. Michael grabbed his hand and pulled Luke down on top of him, giggling and smiling like a doofus.

Calum had gotten an idea, and started chanting loudly. "KISS, KISS, KISS," he yelled. The crowd joined in, cheering and egging them on. Luke blushed, along with Michael. The two looked at each other, and Luke's hesitation stopped Michael from leaning in. He was scared, but Luke was terrified.

"We don't have to, Luke." Michael whispered. Luke nodded, eternally grateful. If he did kiss Michael, he didn't want it to be like this - he wanted to do it willingly, not pressured by his friends. So, he stood up, before helping Michael up. The crowd groaned, not liking the result.

But when Michael felt himself being lifted off of his feet, he laughed, knowing Calum was trying to put him on Luke's back. Luke complied for the first time, letting Michael on his back. They all laughed as Luke ran around with Michael on his back, giggling like a fool.

They spent the rest of the hour like that - laughing and dancing to great music, before the four boys grabbed their instruments and started playing a song.

"You, you're a catch 22,
Win or loose, I'm screwed,
I'm trapped under your spell, it
Saves me,
Breaks me,
'Til I fall back to you,
You're a catch 22,
You're a catch 22."

The crowd learned the lyrics and sang along with them, jumping around and dancing. They were probably going to get a noise complaint from their neighbours, but did they really care? No.

They played other songs - like Lost In Reality, Over And Out, Try Hard, and others - before they got tired and kicked them out of the living room and into the basement, where there were plenty of air mattresses they all had brought.
