It is only when you are on the verge of losing something that you realize how important it is to you. This is what I am feeling right now. I could lose her today, for all I know she could be on that bloody plane on her way home, thinking that I don’t want to be with her. On the contrary, I wanted to be with her so bad but being with Liz would be a challenge for the both of us. Liz could make me happy and forget all about my worries but she could be a pain in the ass driving me crazy, but I guess that she is my pain in the ass.

I turned right to get on the highway. My lovely mother would be so ashamed of me if she saw how dangerous I was driving right now, I was rushing, switching from one line to the other one. I really didn’t want to get a ticket right now; it would only slow me down. Did I mention that I was going 125 Km/h on the highway, which is 100 Km/h? From where I was on the freeway, I could see the airport signboard. Only a few more kilometers and I would be there. I needed to focus on what I was going to say to her. Too many things came into my mind but it wasn’t the important. The important thing was that I wanted I wasn’t mad at her and that I wanted her to stay a bit more with me. But what if she is already on the plane or she doesn’t want to come back with me. Stop doing this to yourself, mate.

I parked the car at the entrance of the LAX airport terminal. My hands were still on the wheels, I had to take a minute to calm myself down… But I didn’t have a minute to waste so I basically got out of the car and closed the door behind me. As I was running towards the entrance, I pressed the button to secure the car. I didn’t even reach the doors and I saw her. She had her sunglasses at the end of her nose, her hair was a jumble of messy curls, you could definitely tell that she didn’t bother to do her hair today but I love it. I loved everything about this girl. From how easily she can be drunk to how insane she makes me. She was waiting for a cab but why wasn’t she on a plane right now. I was confused to say the least.

‘’Liz?’’ I said and she immediately turned around to see me. Her smile faded as quickly as well.

‘’What are you doing here?’’ She asked me as she was making her way towards me. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling because she wasn’t on that damn plane and she was right here, with me.

‘’I thought you got on a plane… I thought you left.’’

‘’So you wanted to make sure I left the country? Don’t worry Harry, I will be the least of your worries in less than 6 hours, I’ll be gone.’’ She stopped right in front of me before turning her heels and walking at the opposite direction.

Well I didn’t expect this to happen. I never expect the right thing when it comes to her.

I jogged a bit to get beside her before gently grabbing her arm and turning her so she was facing me. She had an annoyed expression of her face and some of her hair was getting on her face as well. I gently caressed her face, brushing her hair out of her face as well. She wasn’t looking me in the eyes but I was able to see her, she was pressing her lips together. If I didn’t fear to have someone snap a picture right now, I would have kissed her. I would grab her by the waist and pull her up so she would come down slowly and when our eyes are on the same level, I would have kissed her. God knows how much I wanted to kiss her right now. I should say something right now because it was a bit awkward to have me holding her arm like that. Where were all the things that I mentally prepared on my way over here?

‘’Please come with me.’’ I finally managed to say.

She didn’t say anything but she nobbed in agreement. She still wasn’t looking me in the eyes and I didn’t know if I liked it or not. We walked in silence, not wanting to say anything wrong. When I got near the car, I unlocked it and opened the door for her. She thanked me but it was only a whisper. I made my way to the other side and opened the door. I sat down and pulled my seatbelt around me. I started the engine and left the airport parking. As I was making my way to her beach house, I reminded myself to drive slowly so that way she could have a chat. I was about to enter the freeway when I decided to start the conversation.
