3. "WAIT, WHAT!?"

It was the next day and Danny's parents were acting weird. They were all sitting at the table eating breakfast and as usual, Danny was barely eating. Not that the food's disgusting or that he wasn't hungry, it's just that he's half ghost and since ghost don't need eat, (yet some like to anyway) he rarely does.

"So son," Jack said, "how was your first week of school?"

Danny replied with a shrug. He wanted to say, 'the usual: annoying teachers, late for class, Dash and Paulina, Sam and Tucker..' But didn't.

"You know, Mr. Lancer said that your class might be going on a field trip," Maddie exclaimed.

Danny looked at them with a confused face. "First of all," he begins, "it's only the first week of school. Who plans a field trip that early? Second, where are we going to, the farm or the museum?"

Jack and Maddie snickered, "Oh, something like that... Anyway, let's go! We— I mean you —need to get to school!"

As first period ended, Tucker, Sam, and Danny walked to class. "So, your parents are fixing the specter speeder, took you to school with no info why, and talking about a field trip on the first week of school?" Tucker asked and Danny nodded. Tucker remained silent as he thinks about what that could mean.

"That is pretty weird, the field trip part that is. All the other stuff something normal to me," Sam shrugged.

When they walk into the classroom, Danny's eyes widen, San looked confused, and Tucker did nothing since he was still thinking. "Hi sweetie!" Maddie vigorously waved.

"Hey, son! What took you so long?" Jack greeted.

Paulina and Dash burst out laughing when they came in the classroom
while Danny facepalms. "Mom, Dad, why are here?"

"Well," Maddie cheerfully starts, "remember that surprise I was talking about? Here it is!"

"What, your about lecture us about ghost being... Well, scums?" Danny winced at the word. Sam knew how much he hated that word, but she had to make a point.

"Your close," The bigger Fenton said.

"Make us use the weapons?"

"We might!"

"Put a force field around the school?"

"Wrong again! But that is a good idea.."

"Then what are you doing here!" Danny shouted, frustrated.

Maddie and Jack kept quiet until Tucker finally realized something. "You're planning a field trip... To the ghost zone!?"

"Exactly!" Jack exclaimed.

Danny honestly looked like he was about to hurl. "WAIT, WHAT!? WHY? HOW? WHY IS THE TEACHERS LETTING YOU DO THIS?!" He shouted.

Maddie replied, "because it's your last year of school and we wanted to do something special, by using the specter speeder--"

"And the principal thinks if we go there, we can learn how to protect ourselves from them," the teacher finished.

"And if we happen to catch a ghost, tear it apart! Molecule. By. Molecule!!" Jack shouted, making Danny wince again.

"Now then," the more intelligent hunter said, "besides, Danny, Sam, and Tucker, any questions?"

One kid raises his hand. "Yeah," he nervously asked, "when are we going, how are we getting there, and what if a ghost comes?"

Maddie smiled, "Those are excellent questions! Monday to Wednesday, we have a vehicle called a Specter Speeder and a ghost portal, and don't worry, we've got weapons and I'm pretty sure Nov ghost would dare to mess with us!"

Danny rolls his eyes at the last part, but keeps his mouth shut.

"Alright, next!"

Paulina eagerly raised her hand. "You think we might see Phantom!?"

"Well there's a--"

"Probably not," Danny casually say. Maddie, Jack, and Paulina blankly stares at him. "What? he's always in the human zone.."

"Oh please," Valerie, aka The Red Huntress, said, "all ghost live in the ghost zone! Those wastes of space belong there!"

Valerie had also change her suit. He mask that usually cover her whole was now a visor-like mask that only eyes to the point where you can't even see her eye color. Her hair would always be in a ponytail so it wasn't in the way. She had a necklace with red circle so she could press it, and disguise her unique voice. Valerie herself however, hasn't changed that much. Only different was her hair, which grew longer.

Danny kept silent since he knew if he said something else, they'll get suspicious.

"That enough questions for now. Mr. Lancer will be passing out these wrist rays to help protect you, just in case!" Jack said as the teacher gives everyone one. "And yes there on safety and you can't use them till monday."

Once all of the wrist rays were passed out, the bell rings

"We'll meet at Fenton Works! See you kids in two days!"
