8. Monday

It was monday, the day of the ghost zone field trip. Half of the class wasn't there because their parents wouldn't let them go. Only the A-listers, Team Phantom, and Valerie were there. Valerie's dad didn't want her to go, but she saw this as a opportunity to either catch Phantom, or learn about him. Otherwise, she wouldn't want to be around ghost scum.

"Alright class," Maddie begins, "just to recap, Your wrist rays are on safety and if you see a ghost, don't hesitate to shoot!" She says while Jack demonstrated on a Phantom doll.

Danny cringed hard, "let's just get this over with."

"Aw! Is Fenton scared?" Dash teased.

Paulina rushes over and starts feeling on Danny's chest, "he's not scared! He's tough!" 

Sam and Valerie stands there confused. 'Since when does Paulina started to even care for Danny?' They both thought.  

"Come on Danny," she started to head towards the speeder, gripping Danny tightly, "You can sit next to me."

"Um, thanks for the offer, but I rather sit with my friends.." A blushing Danny said, snatching his hand away from Paulina.

She rolled her eyes and sat in the back with her 'boyfriend'. "Babe, what's going on with you?" Dash questioned. Once again, he was ignored.

"So," Valerie began, "You've been good?" she sat next to Danny so they could catch up with each other.

Valerie's dad had to move away for awhile to apply for a job he was perfect for. She was only gone for sophomore and junior, but that's two years to catch up on. Of course, there wasn't any ghost where she was, so she started making her own weapons and tweaking her costume. She also started fighting other things like wanted criminals, or serial killers.

"Yeah, you?" Danny awkwardly asked. She nods, awkwardly as well.

"Good, good.. Look, I'm sorry for leaving and not even saying goodbye. But, I'm gonna get straight to it." She takes a deep breath, and begins. "I still care for you. The reason I broke up with you... Is complicated. What I'm trying to say is... I miss you, I-I still love you."

While Danny's in shocked, Sam overheard the plead. "And why should we trust you again?" she sneered.

"Yeah! And also, can we just switch places?" An uncomfortable Tucker asked as Sam stretched over him to talk.

"Guys! calm down," said Danny, "look Val, I still lo-- like you.. But... Well it's also complicated. What I'm trying to say is--" 

Suddenly, his ghost sense goes off and Valerie's watch beeps.

"I left something up stairs!"

"I gotta use the bathroom!"

The three adults looks at them stupidly, but excuses them.

Once in their places they transform and heads outside. Danny gets out there first and groans. "Damnit, Skulker!" He shouts.

"Watch the language, whelp," Skulker grins as the ghost boy groans once more.

"Look, I don't have time for this! You know what's going on today! So," he then pulls out the Phantom Thermos, "your gonna get in the thermos or... I'll get Princess Dora on you!" Not wanting to fight that dragon again, Skulker sighs and gives up. "Good blob. Not let--"

"Freeze ghost scums!" they both get shot down to the ground. Red Huntress stands over them with a gun ready to fire again.

Danny rolls his eyes at her, "Val, I'm trying to capture him!" 

"Yeah, and I'm trying to capture you!" She fires once again and Skulker dodges it. Danny, however, tries to roll out the way, but gets hit in the shoulder. He screams and Valerie look at him confused.

"Is he screaming? It's not like he can feel anything." She mumbles to herself. "Quit pretending and get... Up," she pauses and looks at his shoulder. "A-are you... Bleeding?" She manages to fumble out.

Danny eyes widen, "what!? No! That's just ectoplasm! Ghost blood."

Danny sighs for a minute and quickly captures Skulker, who was to intrigued in the conversation. "I'll get you ghost child!" His voice faded out.

'Technically I'm not a child anymore, but okay!' Phantom thought, ignoring the pain. He realized that Valerie was still staring at his blood and quickly covered it with his hand. "Um, I gotta go!" Before she could respond, he disappeared.

"Ugh!" Red Huntress shouted. She went back to the bathroom and took her transformed back into Valerie. While walking back to the Speeder, she hears painful hisses from the other room. She peeks in to see Danny Fenton wrapping up his shoulder with no shirt on. "D-Danny?" she stutters in shock.

Danny look up and covers his shoulder and tattoo with his shirt. "Valerie! What are you doing here!?" he shouts.

"Me! What's going on with you? What's up with that tattoo and--" she gasps at the green and red blood. "Your blood! Why is there green in there!"

"Valerie just let me explai--"

"Did a ghost do this to you?"

"No! Just please!"

"I swear I'll get them for this when we get to the ghost zone!"

"Valerie!" Danny yells. "Look.. Damn, I knew I'll haft to tell you sooner or later." He flips his hair back into place, sighing. "Valerie, I'm--"

"DANNY!? VALERIE!? ARE YOU GUYS OKAY?!"

"Look I'll tell you when we're alone again. Lets go!" He heads to the basement, but Valerie pulls on his bleeding arm. "Um, ow!"

"No! Tell me now!" she demands.

Danny groans, then smirks with an idea. He quickly transforms and then turns back. "Happy now?" He then leaves her staring in shock.

"What took y'all so long?" Maddie asked. They kept quite and went to their seats. "Okay.. Well, lets get started!" the Speeder bus move and the background slowly turns green.

"Welcome to the ghost zone, kids!!"
