It had been a few months since the final round of auditions. Youngjae was checking his phone and email everyday to see if he got a text from the company or even a missed call or email. He couldn't stand the fact that he had to wait so long to see if he made it.
It was 1:31 am, Youngjae woke up to the sound of his phone vibrating. He blinked owlishly as he read the blurry text.
Congratulations Choi YoungJae, You've been chosen to begin our trainee days at JYP Entertainment. Please pack your clothes and come immediately. Welcome to JYPE.
Youngjae jumped out of out of bed and immediately began packing his things. He got dressed and brushed his teeth, packing his clothes and grabbing his wallet in case he needed to get more. Youngjae's mom came out from the room and sighed softly. "Jae what's going on? Where are you going?" He looked at his mom with a big smile and coughed a little. "I made it eomma. I made it to JYP." The mother's eyes widened and she hugged youngjae. "I'm so proud of you my son. I'll take the train with you to Seoul and go in with you." Youngjae nodded at her and smiled. "i'd love that."
Youngjae and his mom had made it to the Mokpo train station. They boarded the train and began on the longest ride of youngjae's life. Youngjae began to feel a mild burning sensation in his wrist as he got closer to Seoul. He looked down at his wrist to see that the lyrics that have been there before, grow bolder. The words went from a soft grey color to a bold dark red color. He kept a tight hold on his wrist and held in the pain as it became increasingly painful. "Ma do you have ibuprofen?" She nodded and gave youngjae the bottle. "What's wrong Jae?" Youngjae took the tablets and looked out of the window. "It's my wrist. But it's nothing so please don't worry" Eun-Chae nodded and looked at youngjae. "Have i ever told you how incredibly proud of you i am?" "Yes mom. You've told me before." Youngjae smiled as he kept staring out the window, watching the landscape fly by.
Youngjae and his mom finally made it to the JYP building. He began walking in when a big figure brushed past him. He turned his head to see who it was and the figure turned towards youngjae to apologize. He hesitated for a second. "i'm sorry i didn't mean to bump into you. " The older kid bowed before jogging out the door and in the opposite direction. "Who was that?" Youngjae looked back at the kid and continued walking. "Youngjae. I just want you to know that no matter what happens, you can always come back home. If it gets too hard you for you all you have to do is calls me.... Okay?" Youngjae looked at his mother. "I promise i will ma. But i'm not a little kid anymore. I can handle this on my own. I promise if it gets too much for me that i'll call you but i'm not going to come home and give up. You know me better than that." Youngjae pulled his mom into a hug. He felt a lump in his throat form as he felt his mom's tears drop onto his shoulder. "I know youngjae. I'm just going to miss you so much." Youngjae felt tears rolled down his cheeks as he heard those words. He put a tighter grip on his mom, scared to let her go. He couldn't imagine life without seeing his mom and now it had become a reality. The fact that he would have to leave his mom behind to pursue his dream.... almost makes him want to forget the whole opportunity. But she was the number 1 reason as to why he wanted to do this in the first place. As hard as it was, youngjae let go of his mom and went towards the elevator. He gathered all his things and stepped inside the elevator, pushing the button, and taking the last memory of seeing his mom wave him a hopeful goodbye through the closing doors as he began the ride up towards the rest of his life.
