Lizzie's P.O.V.

We walk through the door, and there are 2 staircases leading up to a doorway. In between the stairs, however, is a glowing yellow star.

"Brr, I can feel the shadow of the ruins looming above." Julia says sarcastically.

"Well, I'm filled with DETERMINATION!" I respond.

"Yeah yeah, lets just get on with this already."

"I'll be glad to. This is so exciting!!!"

We both walk up the stairs and through the door, where Toriel stands next to a bunch of buttons on the ground.

"Welcome to your new home, innocent ones. Allow me to educate you in the operation of the Ruins." Toriel says.

She walks on four out of six of the buttons, forming a square shape, and turns around to flip a switch on the wall.

"The Ruins are full of puzzles. Ancient fusions between diversions and doorkeys. One must solve them to move from room to room. Please adjust yourself to the sight of them."

Toriel turns around and walks through the next door, and we follow her, only to find yet another puzzle up ahead.

"Jeez, she seems to be puzzle-crazy. It's.. PUZZLING!" Julia laughs.

"Heh, nice one.."

"To make progress here, you will need to trigger several switches. Do not worry, I have labeled the ones that you need to flip." Toriel says, walking away. She goes all the way to the end of the room, waiting for us to solve the puzzle.

We cross a bridge, and there is a switch on the wall with writing next to it.

"Please press this switch. -Toriel" I read aloud.

"Being a little obvious, don't you think Liz?" Julia says.

"Meh, at least she was being honest when she said she labeled them."

Anyways, we flipped that switch, then crossed another bridge. This time, there were two switches, not one, although it was easy to tell which one we were supposed to flip, considering the yellow text on the wall. I flipped it and then turned to Toriel to see what she had to say.

"Splendid! I am proud of you, little ones. Let us move to the next room." She says to us.

In the next room, Toriel stands next to a training dummy.

"As humans living in the Underground, monsters may attack you."

"So? We can just kill em', they're easy to take on." Julia whispers to herself.

"Julia, I'm being serious! You need to stop doing that. It's... bad." I whisper to her.

"Nah. Now shut up please."

"Whatever."

"You will need to be prepared for this situation." Toriel says. "However, worry not! The process is simple. When you encounter a monster, you will enter a fight. While you are in a fight, strike up a friendly conversation. Stall for time. I will come to resolve the conflict. You can practice talking to the dummy."

"There's two of us. Who's going first?" I say.

"Eh, you can go first."

"Really? Thanks!"

"I don't really care either way, so go ahead."

I approached the dummy, and a red heart appeared above my head, my soul. Hmm, strike up a friendly conversation.. okay.
