(A/N I am so SO SOOO sorry for not updating! School is a pain in the butt, and I'm having trouble writing right now. These chapters are sort of filler chapters until we get to the real action. But, without further ado, I bring you chapter 21!)
Lizzie's P.O.V.
I heard a click from Julia's phone, knowing that Alphys was gone.
"You know," I started. "When we climbed that mountain, I never expected something like this to happen..."
"Ditto." Julia responded.
"Well, shall we?" I spoke, motioning to the exit at the end of the room. She nods, and we walk over there. As we walk down the path, I notice a building to our right. It was called the Core, at least that's what I remember Alphys said. Speaking of Alphys, I hear my phone ring and see that it's her. Instinctively, I pick up the phone, assuming it might me something important.
"Um... I noticed you've been kind of quiet..."
We have? I didn't really notice...
"Are you w-worried about meeting Asgore...? It's f-fine, so don't worry, okay? Th-the king is actually a really nice guy! I'm sure you can talk to him, and... W-with your human souls, you can pass through the barrier! S-so no worrying, ok? Just forget about it and smile."
Click...
"Well, that was nice of her!" I exclaimed to Julia.
She wasn't paying attention at all. She remained silent, staring at something behind us. I laughed to myself, knowing it was probably nothing. Julia's been strangely paranoid since we fell down here.
"Uh, hellooo! Earth to Jewel?" I said, waving my hand in front of her face.
She snapped out of her weird trance, looking me in the eyes.
"S-sorry, it was nothing. I just... thought I saw somebody behind us. A human."
I laughed. "Don't be silly, there are no humans around here except for us! You must be tired."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." She shuddered.
"Whatever, lets keep going!"
Up ahead is another elevator. We walk inside and I press the button to go to Floor 3. When we arrive there, I can see a table with a spider...? woman? Sitting behind it. On the table looks like some sort of powerful bracelet. As I walk closer, I notice it's just a croissant.
"Welcome to our parlor, dearies~" She exclaims in her sweetest voice. "Interested in some spider pastries? All proceeds go to real spiders~"
I shivered. I didn't really like spiders too much. "U-uh, sorry! We don't have any money right now... Maybe next time?" I asked. The lady merely laughed. "Ahuhuhu! Of course, dearies! See you around~" She replied innocently, a sweetly sick grin stretching across her face. Wonder what she's up to...
We proceed to the next room, and my phone rings.
"Hello?" I ask, presumably talking to Alphys.
"Hi, Alphys here! This room is like the room we saw before. There are two puzzles to the north and south. You'll have to solve them both to proceed!" I realize that she can probably see me, so I nod visibly.
"Uh.. A-also, I'd like to say! I don't really... like giving away puzzle solutions. But if you need help, just call me, ok?"
"Um, sure..?"
"Actually, wait, I have an idea! Let's be friends on UnderNet!"
"UnderNet?" Julia and I question.
