On Saturday, Emma and Killian left his house and walked to Jefferson's house together. The plan was that they would get a ride back to Killian's house with either Robin or David. Killian had dressed in his new leather jacket, a black shirt, and dark jeans. The first few buttons were undone on his shirt. Emma wore a black leather miniskirt with leggings underneath. She had a white t-shirt on with her black jacket over it. They walked hand in hand all the way to Jefferson's house. Once they got there, Killian stopped in front of the house and looked up. There were lights flashing and music blaring. He had never been to a party before. But, this was exactly what he had pictured.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked, turning to him.
He faked a smile and shook his head. "Nothing."
"No, no. Hey." She cupped his cheek. "What's wrong?"
He sighed. "I-I-I've n-never been t-to a p-part-party b-before."
"I knew that, but I didn't think you would be this nervous." She leaned up and pressed a small kiss to his lips. "It'll be fine. I'll be right next to you. We'll dance and drink and have a good time together with our friends."
"W-what about J-Jeff-Jefferson?"
"It's his party. Of course we'll see him, but it will just be you and me with our friends. We'll be okay." He nodded and took a deep breath. They walked up the steps and inside the house. Killian squeezed Emma's hand and she turned to him and smiled. "I'm going to get us some beers. Stay here, okay?" He nodded again and disappeared in the crowd. He stood right where she left him so he wouldn't lose her when she came back. He hated school and almost everyone in it, so he had never even thought about going to a party where he would be surrounded by the people that bullied him daily. But, Emma wanted to go to the party, so he would suck it up. For her.
"So, Jones, you're here. I can only assume that Emma is here too." Jefferson said as he came up to Killian. "You'll stay away from her if you know what's good for you. Even though you changed how you look, doesn't mean she's going to like you. You are still the nerd of the school with the stutter."
"Shut u-up."
"Oh, I'm so scared." Jefferson said sarcastically. "You are weak. What are you going to do?" Killian looked him dead in the eyes with a look that could kill, but he knew it wasn't enough. He didn't know what he could do. "I'm shaking in my shoes." Jefferson reached up and shoved Killian back into the wall, catching some people's attentions. "Come on, Killian! Let's see what you got." There was a movement in the corner of his eye, and Emma was standing beside him mixed with the crowd. Killian wasn't the only one who saw him. "Oh, look at that! Just in time for your crush to see what a loser you are!"
All Killian could see was red. He didn't even realize what he was doing as he raised his fist up and punched Jefferson right in the jaw. The man stumbled backwards and wiped the blood from the side of his mouth. He glared at Killian for a moment before punching him. Killian fell back against the wall as Jefferson continued to rain punches to his stomach, jaw, and face.
"Stop it!" Killian heard Emma say, but that voice quickly drowned out as there was a thud. He opened his eyes long enough to see her on the ground, holding her head.
Killian pulled his knee up quickly, hoping to collide with something. His wish was granted when Jefferson pulled away and fell to his knees, groaning in pain on the way down. Killian went to Emma and helped her up off the ground. He scanned over her, making sure she wasn't hurt. When it was obvious she was fine, he pulled her out of the house and back to the street.
"A-a-are y-you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine." She nodded. "Why did you hit him?"
"He-He sh-shoved me f-first!"
"It's alright. That was really hot." Emma trailed her hand down his chest. Killian's cheeks turned pink as he watched her hand go up and down his chest. "Shall we get back to the party?"
"Y-you want t-to g-g-go back?"
"Of course I do. We can still have fun."
They walked back inside, and people were patting Killian on the back and congratulating him for being the first guy to ever beat Jefferson up. Emma grabbed them new beers and they went to the living room where a makeshift dance floor was set up. The music was the loudest here. She found a spot on the couch for them and sat down. Emma noticed that there was a girl staring at Killian from across the room. She had a red dress on. It was sleeveless and ended at her mid-thigh. She had red highlights in her hair and huge red high-heels on. Emma elbowed Killian, and he turned his head to her.
"Hmm?" He asked, staring in her eyes.
"Who's that?" Emma pointed to the girl with her beer bottle instead of her finger so it wouldn't seem as obvious.
"Ruby. J-Jefferson's s-s-sister."
"She's staring at you. She must have seen what you did and thinks it was cute. Either that or she really hates you because you beat up her brother."
Killian shrugged. "D-don't c-care."
"Why not?"
"I ha-have you."
A smile formed on her face. She leaned in and kissed him. That kiss slowly getting more and more heated. The feeling of someone's eyes on them disappeared, and sure enough, when the couple pulled apart, Ruby was gone. Killian put down his beer and leaned over Emma, kissing her again and taking her by surprise. He smiled into the kiss.
"Let's go party." She whispered and pulled away.
