Four Months Later...
Emma shook her head in disbelief. Tears welling in her eyes. "I got in?" She asked. As she read over the letter, a smile formed on her face. "I got in!" She confirmed excitedly.
Emma and Killian had graduated high school and were waiting for their college applications now. Emma just got hers in the mail. An acceptance letter for a scholarship to Harvard. Killian still had to open his letter. His wasn't a scholarship, but he was hoping for acceptance too. Emma squealed loudly and hugged both Killian and Liam. She rained kissed down on Killian's face. It was easily the happiest day of her life so far.
"Open yours, brother." Liam said, patting Killian on the arm.
Killian's stutter was gone now. Of course, it wasn't permanently gone. It made its appearance when he was nervous or scared. But, he could talk steadily without one. It had taken months of practice and talking to help get him where he was. His depression was better too. Jefferson hadn't made another move on Emma or made anymore threats to Killian since that night Emma broke his jaw. Ever since Jefferson left him alone, Killian got out of the deep hole he had gotten himself in. Killian had applied to Harvard to be closer to Emma. But also because he had the academics to get in.
"I'm in!" Killian announced, throwing his arms around Emma first, and then Liam. "I got in!"
"We get to go to the same college together!" Emma exclaimed happily. "We have to start packing and shopping!"
"Relax, Swan, we still have time." She nodded but still raced upstairs. He chuckled and went up after her, finding her in her room, folding clothes. "What are you up to, my love?" He asked, laying down on the bed and turning to her.
"Cleaning." She stated simply.
"I have something for you." Killian got up off the bed and ran to his room. When he came back, Emma was organizing her dresser drawer so she could fit more clothes in it. "Love?" She turned to him and jumped on the bed on her knees in front of him. He held out a small, blue velvet box, laughing to himself over her panicked expression. He opened the lid and she relaxed. "It's a promise ring. My promise to you, is that I will always love and cherish you as long as we both are alive. I will always keep you in my mind and I will always remember you." He looked up into Emma's eyes to see tears. "Will you wear it?"
Emma nodded and held out her hand. "You know, I noticed one of my rings was missing, but I figured I just lost it under the dresser or something. This was a wonderful surprise." She smiled sweetly and cupped his cheeks, bringing her lips to his. "I love you too. And I promise that I will stand by your side and love you forever." She whispered when they pulled apart.
"Wonderful." He smirked and laid them down so she was on her back. "I like where this is going."
She blushed and smacked his arm. "Hey, I actually was doing something before you came up here."
Killian hovered over Emma, kissing her passionately. Each kiss successfully stealing her breath away. She loved how romantic Killian could get. He would wake her up with kisses and in other particular ways that she was actually fond of. She enjoyed his sweet gestures of breakfast in bed and waking up to warm showers. All Emma knew, was that she never wanted to lose Killian. She never wanted any girl to see how perfectly amazing he was. She wanted to keep him all to herself. Killian certainly didn't mind her overprotectiveness when it came to other girls. Of course, she wasn't crazy when it came to it. She would let him hang out with other girls. She trusted him enough that he wouldn't run off with any of them. And Emma certainly didn't let Killian doubt her love for him. If a girl was trying to flirt with him, Emma would make sure that the girl knew who he belonged to. And he loved her jealousy side. He acted the same way with her towards other guys.
Ever since he lost the stutter, he gained more confidence in himself. Not only did he look the role of the bad boy, but he also gained the talk of one. His reputation at school changed. But, through his gain of popularity, he never left his little group of friends or Emma. He stayed by them because they were the only ones that had been there for him when he was that shy little geek. Going to Harvard meant that he would be starting a new life with Emma. Nothing made him more excited.
After they finished with their "activities," Liam was already gone for his night shift at the bar. Killian went downstairs for some food while Emma stayed up in the bedroom, admiring her new ring. It was two hearts entwined with each other. She loved it. Killian must have put so much thought into buying the ring. It was the most perfect piece of jewelry she had ever seen. She also had never received such a beautiful ring before. She heard his footsteps coming back up the stairs, so Emma propped herself up on the pillows against the headboard. Killian came back in with a tray of food. She kissed him as he leaned over and sat down. He handed her a bowl of strawberries and she hummed happily as she took a bite out of one.
"Swan, c-can you p-p-promise m-me that we will stay t-together throughout c-college?" He asked, itching that spot behind his ear.
"Of course I promise. I love you." She held her hand up and showed him the ring he had given her an hour or so before. "That's what this ring stands for, right?"
He chuckled. "I love you too, Swan."
The End!!!
But don't worry! I have a sequel on the way. Will be released on December 25th. My Christmas present for you all!
