"Emma, I got the s-s-st-stutter after m-my d-dad left m-me and m-my b-br-brother." Killian said. Emma turned over in his arms to face him. "I w-was very young. B-but it s-still had a l-lasting impression. I b-blamed myself. I s-s-still do. Why w-would he l-leave his kids? W-what w-was s-so wrong with u-us?"

"Oh, baby, there's nothing wrong with you. You and Liam are so amazing. You have both have been so kind to me, and that proves that you don't have a mean bone in your body. Don't ever let anyone make you force yourself to wonder what is wrong with you. There isn't. And there never will be."

He smiled and looked down, causing a tear to roll down on the pillow. "Sorry."

"Don't apologize, Killian. There is nothing to be sorry for. I like a guy who can show his emotions." There was movement downstairs and Emma and Killian both looked at the bedroom door. "Liam's home."

"Aye. We sh-should get u-up. A-at least me."

"Fine." Emma grumbled. She climbed on top of him and straddled his hips. She leaned down to kiss him. Killian's hands found their way to her hips. "In a few minutes."

"He'll h-hear us i-if we l-l-let this continue, l-love. I w-want t-to be the o-only one t-t-to hear y-your beautiful sounds."

She giggled and rested her forehead on top of his. "Fair enough. I'll be down in a few minutes. Just let me get dressed." She climbed off of him and reached down to get her shirt. Killian propped himself up on his arm. She turned around and smiled. "What are you doing?"

"Watching you." He grabbed her hand and kissed it. "You're s-so b-beautiful."

"So you've said."

"N-not enough t-times."

"You are just so sweet."

"Can we g-go o-out on a-a date?"

"Sure. When?"

He shrugged. "T-tonight? We c-can l-l-leave at-at eight."

"Yeah. How should I dress?"

"Casual f-fancy. S-s-some-something in between that."

Emma nodded. Killian got out of the bed and slipped his clothes on. He leaned over and kissed Emma before leaving to his room. When he got in, he looked through his dresser drawers and laid out an outfit. A nice, dark red colored shirt, dark jeans, and a leather jacket. He only had two leather jackets, and the one he usually wore wasn't as nice as the one that was hung up in his closet. He laid that on his bed and smirked in approval. He showered and wrapped a towel around his waist while using another to dry his hair. When he got into his room, Liam was standing there.

"Yes, brother?" Killian asked and turned to the dresser to get a t-shirt and sweatpants. He didn't want to get his nice clothes dirty before the date.

"Father called." Liam said in monotone, taking Killian by surprise. "I invited him to dinner tonight."

"I have a date." Killian said. "Em-Emma and I a-are leaving."

"You aren't going anywhere!" Liam snapped. "Even though I invited him, does not mean I want to be here alone with him. Emma can have dinner with us if she wants to. Killian, we both need answers from him. Who knows how long we will have him in our lives before he runs out again."

Killian sighed and slipped the shirt on over his head and his boxers and pants on before discarding the towel. "Fine. If h-he says o-one w-word I-I-I don't like, I'll kill h-him."

Liam chuckled. "Fine, brother. Thank you. I owe you one."

"You do." Killian smirked. "I'll l-let you know what it is s-soon." He left the room and knocked on Emma's door. It swung open and she was standing in her clothes from earlier. "Love, th-there's been a ch-change in plans. C-can I come i-in?" She moved aside and he entered the room and shut the door behind him. "My f-father is j-joining us f-for dinner. Liam w-wants us to b-be there."

"The man that abandoned you two? The man who caused you both pain and suffering? Why?" Emma asked, cocking her head to the side.

Killian shrugged. "If you h-had a chance t-to meet y-your birth parents, you'd w-want th-them to answer y-your questions, wouldn't you?"

"True." Emma sat down on the bed and ran her hand through her blonde locks.

"Are you m-mad cause w-we c-can't g-go out on the date?"

"No, no. I have to admit though, I was excited for it, but this is more important. Are you sure you want me there? This is your family business."

"I'm sure. P-please?"

She giggled and stood up to put her hands on his cheeks. "How can I say no when you are so adorable like this?" She leaned up on her tip-toes to kiss him. "Let me get dressed and then I'll meet you downstairs, and maybe we could play a round of Mario Kart or something."

"I'd love th-that." He said sweetly. He left the room and shut the door, and heard Liam downstairs rustling through pots and pans. In the bedroom, he heard drawers opening and closing, then clothing brushing together. After five minutes, Emma opened the door. She wore jeans and a long sleeve blue shirt. "You look a-amazing."

She looked down at her clothes, but Killian didn't miss the blush that spread across her cheeks. "Thank you." She looked up again and kissed his cheek. "I bet I could beat you at a game of Mario Kart."

"It's on, S-Swan." He laughed and raced down the stairs and turned the game console on, then handed a controller to Emma. "What d-do I-I get i-if I win?"

She shrugged. "Whatever you want."

"So that m-means I g-get you th-then." He leaned over kissed her cheek, making her laugh. "I love you." He whispered in her ear.

"I love you too." She kissed him, then got into the game.
