~ Renaldo's POV~

He shook his head and left his daydream. It seemed to him the day he'd last heard his mother's warm voice had barely passed, but no, it had been nearly forty years ago. He sighed taking in the all too familiar surroundings one last time before climbing back up the rope ladder and exiting the musty cellar. After climbing up from the cellar he began to tidy the room around him that was now covered in sheets and floor mats. The boys would soon be moving back to the INN, but the mess that had been made was atrocious; not even a hunt of goblins could have come close to the sight before him. Hardly any dirt floor could be seen through all the disarray.

Slowly he made his way around the room and began to pick up articles that seemed to resemble each other and began to fold them and place them on the steps around the room. Within the hour he had the room tidied and everything in its place. With one last look around his small home he noticed Jordan had moved position since he had last looked her over and had even started to move in her sleep.

Knowing she would need some form of sustenance, he left her side and grabbed a bowl and cup from the floor at the feet of the statue. Renaldo left the hut and made his way to the healing water just outside his abode. After saying a short prayer to the guardian of the pool he filled the clay cup and poured some into the bowl then made his way to a slow boiling cauldron in front of his house and scooped a small helping of the left over soup from breakfast in to the bowl. When the soup and healing water came into contact it cooled to a point where it was neither hot nor cold. Having everything he needed, he walked through the door just as Jordan had pushed her self into a sitting position, obviously lost and confused, and tried to speak but all that came out was a strangled "Mlurp".

Renaldo couldn't help but smile at her effort, after a second he cleared his throat to let her know of his presence. Once she had seen him standing in the doorway he felt it was safe to move towards her, so as not to startle her any further he held the food in front of him at an angle where she could see the food inside with out the likely-hood of the liquid spilling out. She eyed the soup longingly and tried but failed to keep her tongue inside her mouth, as it licked her lips. Soon the kind man was by her bedside helping her to consume her meal.

"What happened? Where is everyone? The last thing I remember was someone standing over me, but sounding fifty miles away…" A small burp, the sign of a perfect meal, escaped her lips as the flavorful, and much needed soup settled in her stomach. Renaldo told her what had happened to her and to everyone else. At the end of the explanation half of her wanted to laugh at everything that had happened, but half of her also wanted to sit and think of ways to prevent things like this happening in the future. So, she settled on neither.

"Renaldo?" She voiced after a minute of reflection. "You never told me where the boys went… If it's okay-" She paused. "If I'm ok, can we walk down together to where they are? I don't want them to worry about me any longer…"

The Shawman paused, looking her over and running the possibilities of where Link could have taken his friends. Based on the items the boys had taken earlier he guessed they had gone to the Swimming hole past the cemetery. He looked her over one more time.

"I feel that you are healthy again, but I recommend you no longer venture to eat from the land until you learn what will or will not kill you…" He jokingly smiled at her before finishing his decision. "But, yes. I will go with you to where the boys are if that is what you truly want. However, you may want to wear something you aren't afraid of getting wet." With that said, he stepped out side of his home and allowed her to ready her self before they went out to find the boys.

After a short minute Jordan exited the doors of the house, wearing a large dark shirt and a borrowed pair of Link's pants. She followed after Renaldo to the cemetery even though she already knew the way. Most of the short walk was spent in silence, each reflecting in their own thoughts. However, one thought could not escape Jordan's ever racing mind.

"Renaldo?" She looked up at the wizened leader.

"Hmm?" He blinked, pulling him self from his thoughts.

"The symbol on your cloth, what is it?" She slowed her pace, hoping it would give them more time to talk even though they were just entering the cemetery. "What does it mean? I don't mean to intrude in any way, but the image reminds me of a bird that I've seen on other majorly important articles in the Hylian history." Something she had said stopped Renaldo dead in his tracks. She didn't notice and walked right into him, knocking her off balance and into the dirt.

"For a stranger to our land, you seem to know much of our history…" He turned to help her out of the dust. "I will tell you the story of the Great Bird, if you tell me how you have learned of our culture, though you have only just arrived." He stood a minute more before speaking again. "However, our sides to the matter can be spoken later. For now, let us find your friends." With the tension somewhat resolved, they each went back to their own silent worlds.

Finally they had reached the end of the cemetery, and were standing on the small plateau in front of a not-so-secret-anymore-secret-swimming-hole. Through the small tunnel touching the ground Jordan could hear laughter and splashes. She turned her head up to Renaldo and smiled.

"Thank you, Renaldo." She whispered as she hugged him so as not to be heard, though thinking back on it she doubted the guys would have even noticed with the ruckus they were making. After giving him one more squeeze she turned and crawled through the hole to meet her friends.
