Chapter 12 - Secrets

Link's POV~

A couple of days had passed since Sky had gone a-wire and attacked him. He could breathe, but his neck was still bruised from the pressure that was on his neck as he has held against the wall. There was still something he didn't understand. Why were Sky's eyes golden when his sun glasses got knocked off? He hadn't told anyone yet though… he wasn't even sure anyone knew about his eyes… or even seen them when his glasses got knocked off.

"Hey." Spoke Jordan's voice form outside his tree house door. "Can I come in?" Link looked down from his bed he was sitting on to the front door.

"Sure." He paused, shocked at his own voice. "Come on in." He watched as his door opened letting light and fresh air into his room.

"What happened to all the light in here?" Jordan joked as she climbed the ladder up to Link's bed. "You know…" She trailed off as she sat petting Navi who was at the foot of the bed. "This is the first time I've heard you speak, let alone see you in almost a week."

"It's only been four days." Link laughed this time shocking himself and Jordan.

"The others are starting to worry about you. Deadlox had to tell Sky what he did to you. Sky blacked out when you walked into his room, he doesn't even remember what happened that day. The poor guy thinks he killed you because he hasn't seen you since… since the incident."

"I would have come down sooner but I've been…" Link stopped as he chose his next word.

"You've been what?" She asked skeptically.

"Thinking." He continued as he rolled out of bed and jumped down his ladder onto the floor below. "Thinking I should visit Sky." He finished as he walked out the door.

"Hey." Link said as he knocked on the side of Sky's open door. Sky spun around on his bed eyes wide in amazement at seeing Link standing in his doorway.

"Oh my Notch!" Sky exclaimed as he ran up to Link, arms stretched out for a hug. "I thought you were dead!" he yelled as he embraced him in a hug.

"Can't…feel…arms." Link gasped from the bone crushing hug.

"Sorry," Sky pulled away. "I'm just happy to see you're still alive after what I… after what happened."

"Hey man its ok. You blacked out, you couldn't control yourself. I sure you wouldn't have done that if you were conscience." He reasoned.

"Yeah but I could have killed you if someone didn't stop me." Sky countered.

"Ehh… oh well I've almost died countless times." Link shrugged off Sky's worries. "Any ways, I have a question for you."

"Ask away."

"On the day you attacked me you mentioned something about a girl. You demanded I told you were she was. Thing is I only know one girl in this world. And it didn't sound like you were talking about Jordan."

"Oh…" Sky sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I went into one of those black outs… Um the girl I was talking about was named Dawn. Short for Dawnables. We were engaged and due to marry in a month. Out of nowhere squids attacked us. They took Dawn to their base and hid her from us. We fought to find her for almost three years, but we never did. Finally at the last battle I grabbed one of the revolting creatures and pinned it up against the side of a tree, like I did you to the wall. I asked where she was and it responded with "She's dead." I snapped and sliced its head off. After that I blacked out. The next thing I knew my friends were surrounding me and I was standing in the middle of a field littered with the bodies of dead squids. Later they told me what happened. Jason saw me kill the squid, he said after I killed it I yelled louder than he thought was humanly possible. My eyes flared open as I was yelling and a golden aura surrounded me floating me up twenty to thirty blocks in the air. It built up and got brighter, and brighter till it was completely white and my yell could no longer be heard. Everything was dead silent. Then the orb exploded. As it exploded the orb spread across the field and the second the golden flakes touched the squids they dropped dead. However none of my friends were harmed."

All Link could do was sit there in complete and utter silence.

"One more question." He continued after a minute's silence. "What happened to your eyes? Why are they… the way they are?"

"What do you mean?" Sky asked afraid of the answer he might get.

"Well right after you were knocked out you glasses fell off and I saw your eyes. They were golden."

"After the battle against the squids I would get periodic black outs and make those orbs. Every time that happened we would have to rebuild my room, because of the explosions. So," Sky pulled the sun glasses off of his face and handed them to Link. " ,Seto made these for me and put a spell on them so that they would keep the orbs from generating and me from blacking out." he reached his hand out and link handed back the the sunglasses. "Though it doesn't always work. And it's a good thing I got knocked out when I did because if my eyes were golden like you said then I might have blown you to bits."

"Ahh… so that's why you wear those." Link smiled at knowing the secret.

"Uh…Sky." Jordan spoke from the doorway. "There's someone here to see you."

"Who is it?" He asked as he spun around on his bed to see who the visitor was. Once he did he looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"An old friend." Spoke the man at the door way.
