Zodiac Heaven and Hell

Daily Life (pt 1)

The alarm bells rang loudly and were flashing red. "Oh shit grab the money!" Aries shouted to his partner. "Right!" His masked partner shoved the heaps of cash into a black duffel bag. "You have the car ready right?" Aries asked while sprinting out.

"Of course I do, I'm always ready." Cap pulled his mask off to allow room for breathing. They city lights were glowing brightly and mirrored building shined and reflected the light. Sirens were heard in the distance and were approaching fast.

"GET IN!" Cap shoved the bag in and slid into the drivers seat. He started the car and firmly pressed his foot on the pedal. "Drive faster!" Aries looked behind him and saw the cops were closing in on them. "God damnit!" Cap swerved the car left, losing two out of the five cars.

Aries loaded his gun and stuck a head out the window. He would never kill someone, but he didn't want to get caught. He aimed and shot the tire of one of the cars. The car made a screeching noise as it came to a stop.

"Aries!" Cap caught his attention. "Oh shit!" They were cut off. A barrier of cop cars blocked them. Cap braked the car until it stopped completely. Aries cursed left and right as they were being pulled out of the car.

"You two have noted for some serious criminal activity." A cop came up to them with sunglasses on. "I guess this time you were sloppy." He laughed. Cap read his name tag. "Want to know my name boy? Look me in the eyes and ask me." The man covered his name tag. "What are ya gonna do? Add me to your hit list?" He had a soft southern drawl.

Aries growled and bared his teeth. "I see you have some fight still left in ya." He took out steel handcuffs and clicked them on Aries and shoved him into the back of his car. "Still want to ask me that question?" The cop had his hands in his pocket.

The man was very young to be a cop, must have graduated early. "What is your name, sir?" Cap said in a low voice. "Sagittarius is the name, now get in." He shoved him in a separate car so they wouldn't get any ideas together. "Dang delinquents always ruining my day." He sounded like a 30 year old but he was only 22.

Aquarius pounded on her head in an effort to stay awake. She was working late. Again. She quickly typed on the computer. Her black glasses accentuated her odd dark red eyes. She yawned and got up to get a coffee.

She decided to stop by her friend's cubicle, Virgo always worked late. She knocked on the side wall before entering. Virgo look tired and frustrated, dark circles were appearing under her eyes. "You ok?" Aquarius asked.

"No, I'm exhausted." She complained. "I hate this job, but it pays the bills." Aqua sighed. "Ya..." Virgo went back to her computer. "Want to get a coffee with me?" Aquarius smiled. "No I'm..good." She yawned in between. "Good my ass, you always say that." Aquarius rolled her eyes and walked off to the cafeteria.

She filled two cups with coffee, added cream and sugar, extra in her cup, wanting it sweet. She covered the steaming cups with the lids and grabbed a few extra sugar packets in case Virgo wasn't satisfied with the sweetness. Aquarius had a throbbing headache that wouldn't go away.

She even took Advil. She shook the dull throbbing pain off and went back to Virgo's cubicle. Aquarius sighed as she placed the cup in front of her. Virgo smiled at her and took a sip and winced. "Too bitter." She pushed it to the side. "And this is why I came prepared." Aquarius placed the handful of sugar packets in the desk.

"You're the best." Virgo cracked open three and stirred it in. She sighed at the sweet taste. The sugar was setting in and they were ready to work for another 2 hours.

"Oh come on man! Fix the TV!" Scorpio was missing his favorite show because of this. "Do I looking like a damn electrician to you?!" Taurus took his head out from under the TV stand. Scorpio huffed and paced back and forth.

"I'm going to kill you! If you had spent he extra 200 bucks, we could have gotten a better TV!" Scorpio was ready to choke him. "Calm down man! I recorded it for you." Taurus stood up. "You did?" Scorpio seemed hopeful. "Yes." Taurus stood proudly. "Oh thank god!" Scorpio sighed and slouched on the couch.

"You get so worked up over everything." Taurus munched on some chips and then handed the bag to Scorpio. "When is the rent due?" Taurus asked. "Tomorrow...." Scorpio braced himself. "TOMORROW?! I DIDN'T EVEN GET MY PAYCHECK YET!" Taurus hyperventilated.

"And you tell me I get worked up." Scorpio mumbled. "This is different! Our apartment rests in my hands...for this month, it's your turn to pay next month." Taurus reminded. "I have my money already ready." Scorpio placed his hands behind his head. Taurus was in shock. Where did he get this money from?! 

"Scorpio....tell me now...do you sell drugs?" Taurus had a serious tone. "How did you know?!" Scorpio jumped up. "So you do?!" Taurus gasped. "You're so gonna get arrested. Why can't you make money the honest way?" Taurus shook his head.

"One because it's too much work. Two people never except me for jobs and three it's kind of fun." He shrugged. "Oh and I'll only get arrested if I get caught." Scorpio smiled. Taurus rubbed his temples. "I can't believe I'm living with a drug dealer..."

"Uhhh...want some cocaine?" He brought out a box. "What the hell?! NO!" Taurus shouted. "It'll melt away your worries." Scorpio sang. "No." Taurus squinted. "Ok ok!" Scorpio tucked the box away. Taurus stood up, took the box and chucked it out the window. "What the hell man?! Someone was willing to give me 1000 bucks for it!" Scorpio shouted.

"No." Taurus repeated. "Eh I have more anyway." Scorpio shrugged and went into his room. "WHAT THE FU-." Taurus was in the verge of exploding.

Finally their shift was over. Aquarius and Virgo packed up and went outside. It was 3 am and Aquarius was so tired. She glanced at herself in the mirrored building and gasped, did she just see wings? She shook her head and looked again. "What the hell." She blinked.

"What's up?" Virgo rubbed her eyes.  "I thought I saw wings..." Aquarius checked her back to make sure. "You're just tired, let's go." Virgo gently tugged her. "Maybe you're right." Aquarius followed.
