Aquarius coughed violently and choked, she wheezed as the poisonous gas floated into her lungs. She looked through the shutters and saw nobody was in the room anymore. With the energy she had left she kicked open the vent.
Aquarius rolled out and fell to the ground with a thud. She gasped as fresh air began filtering out the gas. She heard another thud and saw Leo roll to a stop, not moving. "Leo?" Aquarius crawled towards him, tripping a few times in her rush.
He didn't move. "Leo?" Her voice cracked. She put a hand to his cheek and moved his head around, calling his name again. "Forgive me..." Aquarius raised a hand and slapped him sharply on the cheek. Leo gasped in fear as his eyes shot open and he was breathing heavily.
"Oh my god..." Aquarius sighed and sat back in relief. Leo looked around with the most helpless face Aquarius had seen him in but then he relaxed after seeing her face. "I thought I was gone.." He sat up. He coughed heavily, letting the clean air into his lungs.
"Please...don't scare me like that." Aquarius said breathlessly. "Aw you were scared for me?" He was back to his teasing. "Yes, yes I was." She said bluntly. "Oh...I wasn't expecting that answer...more of a 'no what are you talking about?'" Leo mimicked her. "I do not sound like that." Aquarius squinted.
Leo stood up and dusted his pants off. "We have a chance at being stealthy again, they might think we are dead." Aquarius took a deep breath. "Hm, I don't know there is a bed here." He wiggled his eyebrows. "You idiot." Aquarius punched him, harder then she intended to. "Ow." He said while rubbing his arm.
"Ugh I can't use the link or Lucifer will find out." Aquarius groaned. "Isn't he your father?" Leo asked. Aquarius clenched her fists. "Don't call that insolent man my father...he is dead to me." Aquarius growled. "Sorry." Leo looked at the ground.
"The link is gone." Sag said. "What?!" Libra yelled. "SHHH." Sag slapped a hand over her mouth. "We are in the basement, it echoes down here." He said, releasing her. "Sorry..." Libra whispered. "I can't see anything." She said while bumping into something.
"Don't I have light power now? How do I use it?.." He concentrated hard and a bright ball of light exploded. "Too bright!" Libra shielded her eyes. "Sorry." He dimmed the light. Libra bumped into something again. "Geez, what's with all the stuff?" She sighed. Sag roughly grabbed her arm and pulled her away.
A ching noise echoed. "Was that a guillotine?!" Libra gasped. "Yep. Maybe you should watch where you're walking, let's find the stairs." He said. "This is a big basement." Libra whimpered.
"Wait up!" Virgo called after Scorpio. "We don't have time." Scorpio jogged and through open his castle doors. Virgo panted, they had ran the whole way down. For some reason the air wasn't killing her. "Why can I breathe?" Virgo asked. "Because Ophichus turned Heaven and Hell into the Middle." Scorpio walked quickly to his bedroom.
A low growl was heard. "We have company." Virgo grabbed a sword off the armor stand. A hell hound stalked around the corner. "They only come on Blood Moons!" Scorpio said. "Maybe they work for Ophichus or something." Virgo said.
"Maybe you're right." Scorpio growled. The hound growled and snarled at them. "Are you all bark and no bite?!" Scorpio provoked them. Three more followed the first hell hound. "Ok then..." Scorpio gulped. "Run!" Virgo shoved him as they ran.
The hounds nipped at their heels, Virgo could feel the fire singeing her skin, making her wince. "Ok definitely bite they are alllll bite." Scorpio yelled while running. They had reached his room Virgo spun around and swung her sword. The hell hound whimpered as it made contact with this side.
Scorpio shut the door and locked it. He panted and caught his breath. "They are gonna be waiting out there." Scorpio said. "That's why, we have a window." Virgo pointed. "Right." Scorpio felt stupid.
"Where is my key..." He squinted while looking around. "I can't see anything, they are all blurry blobs." He grunted in frustration. "Just hurry up!" Virgo could see the wood door turning black. His hand shook as he grabbed his glasses from the drawer and shoved them on his face.
"You have glasses?" Virgo asked. "Yes yes I know, it's weird and stuff." He sighed while shuffling through drawers, looking for a key. "You keep your crown locked?" Virgo asked. "Yes." He said shortly. "Ah ha!" He held up the key and ran to the glass cage where his crown glowed.
The red rubies shone with excitement. He quickly unlocked the cage and grabbed the golden crown. Virgo already had the window open, the door began to crack. "Shit, it's too far of a drop, we won't survive." Virgo analyzed. "I can teleport, but don't blame me if any body parts go missing." He smiled.
"What?!" Virgo yelled. Scorpio put and arm around her and it felt like a black cloak surrounded them. The scenery changed and they were on the ground. "Oh you couldn't teleport us to the freaking castle itself?" Virgo scoffed.
"Nah, I like spending time with you, so I didn't mention it." He chuckled. "Can you teleport us back?" Virgo asked, while fighting the blush. "I mean...I don't want to risk teleporting to the wrong spot, you have to have a clear picture of where you're going." He said.
"Fine.." Virgo sighed and began walking. Scorpio grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "What part of wanting to spend time with you didn't you understand?" He smirked. "But we have to....get...back to.." Her words trailed off as Scorpio brought his lips closer and closer.
Virgo breathed heavily, she had wanted to kiss those lips since she first laid eyes on him. He kept his lips so close to hers, but not touching yet. "And by the way, I knew you liked me the first time I saw you." He whispered. "Was it that obvious?" Virgo let out a small laugh. "No I just had a hunch." He smiled and gave the most gentle kiss possible but passionate.
It was like...touching a feather. Virgo melted to his touch and put both arms around his neck, pulling them closer. Once they pulled away Virgo burned hot. "I uh we better um, get back." She cleared her throat and began jogging back. "Ya we better." Scorpio smirked at her.
"I can hear the guards going back and forth, we don't have a way out!" Aquarius looked like she was going to murder someone. "I mean...I would suggest distracting them but I don't want any of them touching you." He said. Aquarius rolled her eyes at him and cracked open the door.
"Who are the people we are looking for? We don't even know how they look like! King Ophichus is such an idiot." A guard said with anger. Aquarius gently shut the door. "They don't know how they look like...we can get away with this." She thought. "How?" Leo whispered.
"I need you to...look like you...uh." Aquarius was fumbling with her words. "Like what?" Leo blinked. She whispered in his ear. His eyes widened. "Grab anything to cover your face." Aquarius grabbed a scarf from the drawer and wrapped around her head and then a little of her face.
Leo grabbed a hat and put it over his eyes so you could only see his mouth. "Ready?" Aquarius gulped, if this didn't work they were dead. "Ya, I hope they don't remember this is the King's chambers." Leo breathed.
"And go!" Aquarius swung the door open and spears were pointed at them. "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't know that we were being heard?!" Aquarius was blushing, really blushing. "Oh don't worry about it love, I'm just lucky I did it with you." Leo winked and smiled.
"Oh don't be daft darling, we came here for privacy and these idiots have taken it!" Aquarius tried sounding angry. The guards spears lowered as they scratched their heads. "Why were you in the King's chambers?" One asked. "These are the King's chambers?! Oh dear! I didn't know, we must have gotten lost in our...rush." Aquarius said.
They squinted their eyes. "What exactly did you do in their?" A guard asked suspiciously. "Uh um...well you see....I couldn't give you the details...they are very...how to say inappropriate." Aquarius was blushing again.
"Oh...you guys..." One started. "Yes, and I do hope you won't share it with anyone, it would be embarrassing!" Aquarius said. "Alight, we have an emergency in the castle, leave immediately." A guard said. Aquarius nodded and dragged Leo with her. "Good day." Leo said and followed Aquarius. When they turned the corridor Aquarius could breathe.
"So we did it eh??" Leo elbowed her. "Shut up and let me recollect what just happened." Aquarius looked around. Aquarius saw blazing red hair turn the corner. "Aries?" She quickly walked down the hallway and turned. "Ugh I lost them!" Aquarius turned around.
"Leo?" He was gone. "Leo!" She whisper shouted. Her heart beat raced, she felt unsafe without him, vulnerable. "Oh god." She breathed.
