Chapter 14: Escape Route

HI!! Welcome back to another chapter of, HYBRIDS!!! Thank you for all the wonderful comments last chapter, I really appreciate it :3!! I hate school, I could have updated another chapter of this book but it was pushed back to today, sorry ;(! But here is a brand new chapter, hope you ENJOY!!!!

Tyler's POV

My black and white tiger stripes rubbed against his red, white, and black red panda fur. He purred in my chest as I looked down at him. His eyes fluttered open, revealing his dark chocolate eyes gleaming up at my bright blue ones. 

He yawned and stretched his little limbs in my arms. His red panda noises echoed through the room, making me rub his fur, feeling the soft sensation on my own fur. I purred in pleasure as little red panda noises came out of the smaller mammal. 

I lifted myself up, trying to get used to my new hybrid body. Craig moaned at the loss of warmth, which made me look down at him. He looked up at me, circled up in a ball, trying to save some warmth. I laughed, but it came out as a small roar as I was still in my hybrid form. He was honestly the cutest ball of fuzz I have ever come to know, I'm happy to have met such an amazing man and creature.

My eyes scattered across the room, remembering we are still locked in a room, in the hands of Nanners. I sighed and looked at what seemed to be a black door. The black door smelled of the dying smell of cigarettes and smoke. It's black color drifted off into a dark grey as it was rotting from age. The black door kind of blended in with the rest of the walls, being an unnatural color of dark grey. My paws made the floor crease into the shape of my paws as I put pressure on each spot. 

I looked back down at Craig, who seemed to have gotten the message. I got down to his level, he immediately jumped on my back, lying down on my fur on top. I rose to my feet, and started to walk to the door. Every step seemed like I was getting farther and farther away from the door, but I stopped right in front of it. 

I looked up at the door, and nudged the door with my head, making it open with a squeak. The entrance let out a smoke cloud of black dust and smoke, making me step back a little from the cold smoke cloud. 

The smoke cloud dyed down, revealing an even darker area in the ibis. I could feel Craig shiver and squirm on top of me as he saw the darker room. My tail went up as whispers echoed through the opening. The whispers became louder and louder, marking it's trace of it's presence. I took a step forward, trying to ignore the noises of the unspoken horror's. I shivered as I stepped forth into the room, blinded by the darkness. 

A brief cloud of wind caught my fur and whisked past me, making a little noise. I felt another wave of shivers wash over me as a second cloud of wind hit me. Something hit my sense of smell, hard. It smelled like raw meat and fur, but it mostly smelled like smoke and a candle that smelled of cinnamon. A lot of smells hit my nose, that made me want more of it. 

I smelled around a little more, trying to track the smells. The smells just kept getting stronger and stronger each time a take a step. I kept walking, until I hit my nose on a wall, which made me flinch and move my nose around a little bit. I pawed the wall, but found it was another door when it creaked open. The door opened a little more, revealing a male, but chains were attached all over his body. 

The male seemed to be shorter than normal with a tan. His brown hair was pulled up into a bun as his arms were wrapped behind his back. He seemed to be a hybrid, because his monkey tail was swaying back and forth behind him. 

His ears stood still as he looked down at the floor. I titled my head as the chains rattled as he looked up at us. His expression showed everything, he looked up with shock and seemed like he was crying for help. He shook his head, nudging his head left. I looked left, revealing sleeping hell hounds, snoring like an earthquake. 

I looked back over to the short male, who was looking into a different direction, which was the opposite way of the hell hounds. I looked right, revealing another male. But this male seemed totally different, because he was tall and skinny. His pale skin glowed in the red light as he looked down. He seemed to be a pit bull hybrid, when his ears and tail were out and about. He had a brown beard with brown hair sticking up. I heard chains rattling, making him look up at the monkey hybrid. 

His expression changed when he changed his direction to me. He jumped in shock as his eyes widened with hope, but then turned to discomfort and sadness. I took a step forward, going towards the shorter male. 

He smiled down at me, then shook in excitement making the chains rattle. I stopped in front of him, and gripped the chains with my teeth, pulling it inch by inch, tying not to stir the hell hounds awake. They only snored as a response with the little noises of the chains. The chains soon came to an end, making freedom for the monkey hybrid. He petted my head as a thank you. 

He slowly walked over to the taller male, smiling at him. He unwrapped his chains, slowly placing them on the floor. They were both free as the shorter male changed his form, making him shorter and more furrier as a monkey. His clothes fell on the floor as he climbed up to the taller one's shoulder. The taller smiled down at the monkey, then back at us. 

Craig jumped down from my back, leaping to another direction. Another door was placed at another wall of the room (Wtf? So many doors! Lol!). Craig scattered to the door, scratching it with his paws. I ran to the door to him, so as the two hybrids. I nudged the door with my head, making it open. 

We all held our breath as another wave of smoke came upon us. I stepped forward, leading the way into another dark room. This time I actually put a paw out each step to feel where the door will be so I don't hit my nose...Again. My paw kept flying in the air, probably making me look stupid but at least know one could see me. 

My paw hit another wall, probably another door. I nudged my head forward, revealing light coming into the room of dark. The new room showed something different, something that needed help...
