Chapter 21: Gummy Worms

Craig's POV

I watched as my mother dropped her fork, and eye Tyler. I never seen her act this way before around people, well I never seen her act around prey before. "P-Prey?" Tyler only nodded, and looked down as the words slipped from her mouth. 

"B-But what are you doing here? I-I don't know what your father would say, Craig. But I'm surely not gonna let him take Tyler away from you, Craig. I know you two are together, and I'm happy for you." My eyes widened, and I smiled as I saw my mother spoke those words.

The sound of a door opening rang through my ears as my heart started pounding. Footsteps were heard as all of us looked towards the source. My dad walked in the room, looking down at the bills he probably grabbed. He tour them open and looked at the price. He stomped in the kitchen and groaned. "Azul! Why is the water bill overpric-" He looked over at us sitting at the table, his eyes widened.

"Oh, new visitors!" I looked over at Tyler, who got up out of his seat. He shook his hand and smiled politely. "Hello sir, I'm Tyler." Tyler smiled down at him, wrapping his huge hands around my father's. "Hi, I'm Valak. I'm Craig's father." Lui and Daithi also introduced themselves, being polite.

My father looked in my direction, his eyes widened. "What happened to your lion form?!" I sighed, and smiled at him. My red panda ears still looking fluffy and cute. "It's nothing, but Tyler changed from a pi-" I immediately covered my mouth, making my father question me. Tyler looked back at me, with wide eyes and a racing heart. 

"U-Umm...What I meant to say w-was a...Umm...Python! Y-Yeah! O-One of the r-rarest snakes!" I looked back at my father, who simply smiled at Tyler and nodded. "Oh, nice!" My father smiled up at Tyler, who was still a monster in size. 

Lui pounced on Daithi's shoulder, swinging his tail around his face. Daithi laughed, and swatted his tail away. My mother looked at me from across the table, and smiled. I gladly returned it. I started to hear little wisps lingering in my mind. The wisps started to form words. "Craig, I need to tell you something..." I looked up at my mom, who nodded and smiled. 

She communicating with me by thought, how weird

"Mother? How are you doing this?" 

"I have been keeping a secret for a long time, Craig. I've been trying to hide it from you. It's about time I tell you..."

"What mother? What?"

"I'm not who you think I am, Craig. I'm not just your everyday mother. I am a fallen angel, born to be a warrior. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, Craig. I was trained by Nanners, to fight in the war of the hybrids. You didn't hear the full story, did you?"

"No. What?"

"Nanners ordered the army to find and capture all the hybrids in the world, which wasn't easy. It took us hundreds of days to find them all. After that, we brainwashed all the hybrids to think that they were against each other to make the power of Jonathan and Evan to sink. But that power didn't sink, it found a new owner, you and Tyler."

"I-I-I thought-"

"Craig, the truth is the truth. But no one else knows about this, don't tell anyone."

"Ok, but I still don't get how your communicating with me." My mother got out of her chair, and smiled at the rest of the people in the room, leaving. I only sat in the chair, alone as everyone else talked. I saw my dad and Tyler talk for a little while, talking about hybrid things and such. 

I finally sprang up out of my chair, noticing my mother had feathers down her shirt, grey feathers that were shredded. My eyes widened as a feather dropped from her shredded wings. I looked back at my father, who seemed to look down at the feather but just in time not to notice mother's wings. 

"Dammit! Where is that bird?! Stop leaving feathers in my house!" I laughed under my breath, but good thing no one heard me. My father walked over to the feather, picking it up. He threw it in the trash, revealing millions of grey feathers (I don't know how that's possible but, deal with it! XD). Tyler's eyes widened,"Woah! I can help you catch the...Bird. I don't even know if it is a bird." My father looked back at Tyler, and smiled. 

"Would you? Thank you!" Tyler only smiled, and looked around. He walked around the house with my father, looking for the 'bird'. I only laughed as I was left with Lui and Daithi. They seemed to be pretty calm even if they remember they got captured. 

A mist of black started to appear next to Daithi and Lui, transforming into Wither. She simply stood there, looking down at Daithi and Lui. A cloud of purple formed in front of Lui, transforming into a jar of rainbow gummy worms. 

Lui's eyes widened as he tried to grab the jar, but his little monkey hands couldn't carry that much weight. Instead, Daithi picked it up, smiling at Wither. But Lui wanted to thank Wither in another way, so he hopped on Wither's shoulder. Lui got a little closer to her cheek, kissing it. Wither's cheeks started to get red, making Lui hop back on Daithi's shoulders.

Daithi opened the lid, letting the monkey grab as many gummy worms as his little heart desires. Wither smiled down at the two, knowing she was forgiven for stealing them.

She simply disappeared into a mist of red as Lui was left with his stomach full of gummy worms. His monkey form soon became his human form as he carried the gummy worm jar, still eating them. "She's nice." Lui looked up at Daithi, who was smiling down at the smaller being...
