The cold seeping into my bones from the fingers made my heart flutter with fear. Why do people touch my back seriously it is uncomfortable! The voice spoke again in my ear, the scent of insence was strong; "You are not the princess of Egypt, for you are not the Pharaoh's offspring. You are merely his brother's daughter a meagre priestess." a soft chuckle tickled my earlobe. Before the hand was withdrawn. "Good luck Fake Princess." the hushed voice whispered. The once cold air now became scorching again as the midday sun ripped through the sky down towards myself. I couldn't be bothered to wait for whoever was told to bring me back. I bundled the clothes under my left arm and held the sandals in my right. The grass beneath my feet felt lustrous, I increased my pace until a large sandstone building appeared. It was golden decorated with statues of pharaohs and gods, each painted delicately by hand. A huge stairway, several horses' lengths across, was lined with formidable statues of creatures. Many squares had been hewn out the building with protruding balconies. The largest of which was directly over the entrance. In an awe struck trance, I walked inside.

I felt I knew the pathway like the back of my hand. Like I've walked these steps so many times before. Before long an towering door appeared, it was gold with two deities and two pharaohs engraved into it. The doors swang backwards, an creaking emanated from the hinges. A golden throne lay ahead. Its detail to intricate for human words. Sapphires and other precious jems were woven within the fabricated perfection. A little taken back I slipped on my shoes to appear more presentable. Brushing dirt down off my shortened robes I walked towards the throne.

Two boys stood in front of the throne. Both were the same height, stature and looked identical. However, one was olive tanned whilst the other white as a sheet. I listened to their conversation as I approached. "Atem, she's not our triplet anymore. She is our cousin!" the paler boy gripped the other's shoulder.

"Yami! She is our sibling! Why in Anubis' name would father let her live and grow along side us!" Yami (the paler boy) looked a little taken back.

"She does not share alot of our features. She is our cousin brother." Atem looked infuriated. His fists clenched at his sides, pure anger passed his face.

"That fall must've damaged your head more than I thought." He sneered back. Either they both didn't get on well or a serious rift over something like the throne had made them go power hungry crazy. Trust me I live with Seto Kaiba the most power hungry of all. I coughed slightly and leaned to the right. My arms crossed over my chest. A golden 'sleeve' covered my lower arm, I bet this is a duel wing! I glared at them, both blushed. "I can see how much I mean to you." I spontaneously sighed. "I mean Thoth could tell you at a price." I raised my eyebrow, personally Thoth was one of my favourite gods. The idea of having knowledge of discovery intrigued me. "Thoth has an answer to everything, the price could be a loved ones death down to losing a limb. Becoming blind, there being a plague, a war could start. A famine could come. The best boat could sink. It's your call." they looked at each other blankly. I dipped my head and left. The doors remained open after my departure. The sound of royal bickering echoed around the empty palace.

My feet found a way to a chamber which seemed familiar, too familiar. A large wooden four poster bed was positioned on the left wall. Silk curtains hung down around it, an open balcony was directly ahead. A cool breeze drifted in to the reasonably large room. The silk that was draped over the balcony entrance gently rustled. Everything was calm. Yet an ominous feeling deep in my stomach made me know this would not stay so. The tranquility was shattered by a scream. It was neither male nor female. Nor was it earthly. For this was the scream of Maat being shattered.

(maat - peace, tranquility she is also the goddess of justice judgement she is 'good' and is represented as a feather )

(thoth - God of wisdom, secrets and knowledge)

(Anubis - God of the underworld)
