Sophie POV

Dinner was a whole new experience. I was dressed in a royal robe, two cotton strips wrapped over my shoulders down and to my back. It then fell into a long skirt. My stomach was exposed up to just below my breast bone, I had the urge to cover myself up with everything I could find. This would be tables, walls people. Alot of the time an unsuspecting Mikari.

A fine banquet had been laid out. The table stretched half the length of the throne room. Porters hurried back and forth with fine juices and wines. Our Amuse bouche had been bread with a salted fish, then abundant plates of roast oxen, ducks and pigeon were brought out. I was sat to the right of Yami. Yami was opposite Seth and I was opposite Seto. Atem sat at the head. The table then dropped to stools, on my side there was Mikari, Seaki and some priests. More priests sat opposite them. A few sat on the floor. Sweet scented candles burned in the hall, whilst us girls had flowers woven into our hair. I could see the people from my time (namely Mikari and Seaki) unable to cope with the spice of the food. The cakes that were brought out were immense, filled with honey and raisins. Next baskets of fruit. After I felt like I was going to burst. I sighed and relaxed, only to be ushered to my feet as the tables were moved. Several woven mats painted intricate colours were laid on the floor. The light blue haired girl, and four others filed out. A man stood with a huge pipe and a ginger haired girl with what resembled a violin. They began to play. The girls leapt and danced, twirling thier beautiful satin dresses. I wasn't really interested. The music and dancing continued for awhile.

I was bored, so what I did next was unheard of in my life. Maybe I had one too many fine drinks? I stood on the raised platform and handed some handy papyrus to the musicians, lucky using shadow magic I managed to correct and enhance the instruments and thier playing skills. Note by note, the tune to Brown eyes ebbed out of the silent room. My eyes locked onto brown. Those haunting brown eyes. I felt light headed as I mindlessly wandered back to my room and collapsed onto the bed.

--morning--

My head. Hangovers hurt like hell. I noticed a glass of a bright juice on the dressing table, I guzzled it slurping up every last drop. I think it was mango. On the table to the side sat something that ressembled a breakfast. On a cloth lay a piece of browned bread, a small cake like bun and a small bunch of grapes. I avoided the bread, I knew the grit in it from the grinding stones would cause tooth decay. Instead I scarfed the cake and grapes down like a wild animal.

I began to tear the flowers out of my hair, a knock resounded on the large door. "Yes?" I sweetly said,

"Princess, it's me Eden, I've come to help you dress for the arrival of the emperor." I had a servant? Awesome!

"Sure, come in." I resumed picking out the flowers. In the large square mirror the girl, Eden, appeared behind me. She was quite short and petite in her appearance. She had a white dress on with a long brown over the head kind of apron. It reached her neck and had no seams. A piece of torn red cotton was simply tied round her waist.

"Please princess, allow me." She gently pulled out the rest of the flowers and rhythmically brushed my hair with long strokes. She the plaited a long braid from right to left, and pinned it at the back with a large ankh broach. She left down my little side fringe. "This box was given by an admirer to give to you." from her front pouch she produced a small navy blue and silver box. I gently took it and slid off the fragile lid. I gasped at the object's beauty. It was a simple chain necklace with a single gem of amethyst. I nodded at Eden who fastened it quickly behind my neck,

"You may leave Eden, there is no need for you to help me get dressed." She blinked and nodded,

"As you wish." She left the room softly closing the door as if she was never there. I found some kind of material stuff in the cupboard, perplexes I left it. Instead I wore the same, still in shape, robes from yesterday's meal. I was slightly annoyed that deodorant and body spray didn't exist. After pumping out some sweet smelling liquid from a glass bottle I exited the room.

The sound of clipping shoes resonated around the corridors as I followed the limestone path to the main courtyard. Yami stepped out of the shadows to my right as we exited the palace into the bright Egyptian sun. The glare soon died down, five charriots were parked side by side, approaching them guards helped Atem and Yami into the first one. I rode with Mikari. The procession began, the horses picking up pace and dust. I saw the priests and priestesses riding on horseback along side us. The pace picked up and the landing strip on the Nile was soon in view. A large wooden boat sat on the still surface, I exhaled strongly, "That's not possible..." The boat looked like a smaller version of Noah's ark, with bended wood and a glossy finish. In front stood three figures, two I recognised as Solomon Muto and the second Yugi. The third registered as Heba. Solomon was dressed in a midnight blue kimono with his sleek, grey hair in a bun. Yugi had on a dark purple kimono and Heba had a black kimono on. Atem stepped down off his charriot and shook Solomon's hand,
"Hello Emperor Solomon, I see you had a safe journey." He nodded,
"My boys and I were at ease." Yami outstretched his hand,
"Greetings Emperor." He nodded,
"Hello young Yami." He nodded to me.
"So that's your sister." Atem nodded,
"Pure as the finest silk." I stepped down, Mikari close behind me. I held out a hand, which he pecked the knuckle of.
"Pleasure." I spoke sneering. "Now if you excuse me I have better things to do than chit-chat all day long." Mikari nodded. I turned around but someone had hold of my arm. I grasped one of my hidden daggers from my leg and placed it at the person's throat. "Please don't think I'm a harmless weakling." I opened my eyes to Heba, "And don't think I'll do as I'm told." Heba's amethyst eyes glittered with fear and a challenge. I smirked. "Now come on Mikari, it's time to leave." Mikari spun her ornate dagger round her hand.

"Sure thing Sophie." She smiled replacing the dagger on her thigh, flashing her legs what a woman should not do. I did the same and she smugly grinned, "Rebellious aren't we?" I cocked my eyebrows upwards,

"Oh you haven't met me then." We laughed in sync. Atem stared disapprovingly whilst Yugi and Heba blushed. I walked over to where Mikari stood next to the charriot, "I don't think they've seen royalty's legs before..." She chuckled.

"You said it not me." I climbed on to the charriot next to her, she handed me the reigns and I swung them downwards. The Chestnut stallion and dapple grey mare trotted on. We wove not to the palace but to the town, "Let's have some fun shall we Mikari?" she nodded.

"A bit of rule breaking sounds good."
