Chapter 1:

The next morning, George wakes up, not seeing Danny by his side. His eyes widened, “Dan?” He shots his head up, and his eyes scattered across the room, searching for her. Nothing—not a single answer at all.

He pulls himself from the bed, searches for his sneakers below. He hurriedly rushes down the stairs, straight to the kitchen to look for Danny.

“Dan, where are you?” he calls out for her but no one replies.

Now getting really worried, he looks for her in Kellie’s room—located just beside the kitchen.

Kellie is sleeping soundly in her bed, hearing his footsteps—she wakes up. He walks near her bed tell her to fall asleep for some more time as it’s too early for her to wake up.

It’s only six in the morning and he doesn’t know where the heck Dan is.

“Sleep back Kel. I just came here to look for your mom. I thought she might be here with you,” George whispered, rubbing her hand on Kellie’s forehead.

“No, dad she did not come here. After making me fall asleep late in the night she went back to the room,” she said, with in her soothing sleepy tone and slept back.

George, acting a bit more worried went to the garden, than to the backyard—but failing once more. He recalls his and Dan’s conversation last night at dinner. She told him, that she has to finish some of her office work. Finally George realizes and walks to the study room upstairs.

He stands at the door, watching Dan sleeping from a far distance. He has a relieving smile on his face. For few minutes he stands there watching her sleep.

George’s POV:

She looks so beautiful, with few strands of her waves falling on her cheeks. She is just so pretty- and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. She is the best thing in my life and I just love her more than she could ever know. She must be working late night and fell asleep. She seems so tired and stressed out. I should pick her to the room and make sleep comfortably in the bed.

George walks to the table. As he stands across her, he watches her face and places the curls on her face to the side. Danny wakes up by his touch. She stands up in front of him afraid to answer him—that what she did here all night and why she slept here.

Before she could speak George tells her, “I know you were working late and slept here Dan.”

“Yeah,” she said, with a quavering voice.

“It’s common. You seem a lot tired, let’s go to the room. You need sleep, else you’ll be laming whole day long.” George said placing his hand on her shoulders.

“George!”

“Yeah, Dan? What’s wrong? Are you alright?” he said turning to her.

“Yes, I am fine. But how did you wake up so early?” she asked tensed.

“It just happened that I woke up and when turned beside to look at you. You were not there, than I went down stairs in the kitchen and then Kel’s room. I also checked for you in the garden and backyard than I realized you might be here.”

“Oh! I am sorry I just...”

“It’s okay Dan; I understand,” her interrupted with a slight smile.

He hugged her and with that, they both went to the bedroom. George made her lay down on the bed and covered her with the blanket, smiled at her and crawled in the blanket with her. He pulled her closer and hugged her in comfort. She laid placing her head on his chest thinking about last night and not really in the mood to sleep. She simply closed her eyes trying not think about anything.
