Your POV: I wake up, it's the morning of the 25th. Or in other words, Christmas morning. I couldn't seem to make myself feel cheery though, for some reason I felt more anxious for today. Anxious for what Laurence would say about last night, or how he would act around me and Garroth.
I get up, brush my teeth, and head downstairs. The smell of waffles floats on the air, and I let in sink into my nostrils. Travis is sitting on the living room couch, a small present box in his hand.
"What's up Y/N?"
I shrug, "Nothing for me, what's up with you and that present?"
He looks puzzled for a second, but then realizes what I'm pointing at. "Right, I was going to ask you about this, did you buy this?"
I shake my head, "Nope, is it addressed to someone?"
This time he shakes his head, "That's the problem, it's not. I'm trying to see if anyone remembers-"
Garroth steps into the room, cutting him off. "Hey, put that down, we'll open presents later!"
Flustered, Travis puts the gift back under the tree. He leaves the room, eyeing Garroth as he walks away.
Once he's away, Garroth walks over to me, his face heating up. "Y-you look really nice, Y/N."
I look down at my worn pajama bottoms, it was nice that he was trying, but we both knew I looked terrible.
I still end up blushing though, it was hard not to, being complimented by someone as attractive as Garroth after all. "Thanks Garroth, you don't look too bad either."
He puts on a cheesy grin, "I can't wait for you to see what I got you, you're going to love it, I promise."
I feel a smile form on my own face, "If it's something you bought, I'm sure I will!"
Chills run down my spine as he wraps his hands around my waist, "I lov-"
Laurence comes out the corner of the room he was spying us at, "Ahem," he coughs.
Garroth hastily takes his arms off of me, trying to act as normal as possible. "L-Laurence, h-hey," he stutters.
I look at Laurence, my eyes narrowed. He ignores me though, keeping his focus on Garroth only.
"You know," he begins, "I'm sorry about being such a jerk to you."
Garroth's eyes widen in shock, "You're w-what?"
Laurence nods, "You heard me, I'm sorry, I should have let you two be happy."
Garroth stares at Laurence, almost as if he's taking in what he just said. Then, without even saying so, he pulls Laurence into a hug.
"I forgive you, man."
^^^^
We're gathered around the tree, stupidly laughing over stupid things. Every so often, a gift will be passed out to someone, I had already gotten three addressed to me, and was only waiting for Garroth's.
The gift pile was winding down, and I was starting to wonder if Garroth had only thought he bought me something. The last gift that can be seen is for Dante, from Laurence himself. Dante tears it open, revealing a picture frame.
"Laurence, what's thi-"
Laurence shakes his head, "It's a picture frame, with a picture of us, so you never forget us."
Dante smiles, hints of tears forming in his eyes. It's cute to see them like this, but I can't help to worry about myself. Could he, or more important did he, forget about me?
Travis pokes his head underneath the pine tree, branches poking his white hair.
"Hold on, there's one more," he yells out.
The branches rustle as he slides out, a tiny box placed in his hands.
Travis's eyes narrow at the box, "Hold on, this is the one that was unamed!"
Garroth smiles, taking it out of his hand, "I'll take this one if you don't mind."
I smile too, knowing that this one must be for me. He places it in my hands, and ever so carefully, I unwrap the small box.
Then even more carefully, I pop off the lid of the wrapped gift box. I peek inside, seeing a tiny slip of folded paper lying in side.
I take it out, and once unfolded, it read: "Y/N, I should have asked this long ago, but, will you finally be my girlfriend/boyfriend?"
Author's Note: I apologize for such a late upload, I honestly have no excuse this time. If this happens again, just assume I couldn't find time to update that night, and that a new chapter should come quite soon. Thank you guys for still staying here though, and for giving this book 3k reads! Here's to 3k more! -Kayla/Author
