"No, I mean I want to be together, forever."

As he finishes those words, your eyes go wide.

"You mean?"

"Yes," he breaths. "Yes, I want to get married, I want to have kids, I want to do everything.

You see can see the intensity in his blue eyes. He was always caring and passionate, but never like this. He was serious, dead serious.

You're not sure what to reply with, though. In truth, you wanted that to, but then, you weren't sure. What if things didn't work out? What if you weren't destined, and it was just a fling?

No, it wasn't just a fling. A fling would have ended, especially after everything you've been through. It was more than that, definitely, but you still weren't sure. It was all coming so soon, and you just felt overwhelmed.

But, you let your heart speak. Truthfully, it drowned out everything else anyways.

"I, I do too."

You sit on a stack of boxes, the empty wall staring back at you. This place was, perfect to say the least. It was everything you wanted, and you couldn't wait to start a new life here.

Garroth walks in the door, the last pile of boxes stacked in his arms. Carefully, so not to break anything, he sets them down, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow.

"All finished," he sighs, relief flooding over him.

You laugh, "Well, not yet."

You eyes travel to the white walls, and the empty rooms, new hope waiting around every lonely corridor. There was still a lot to do, but you knew everything would come together.

Garroth laughs now, looking around too. "It's really-"

"Beautiful?" You interrupt, smiling.

"Yeah," he nods. "Beautiful."

He sits down on a box next to you, grabbing your hand.

"Don't worry, this place'll be great someday," he reassures.

You nod, thinking of the future. You hoped hang wedding pictures on that wall, baby pictures on the other, and-

You're interrupted by Garroth, placing a sweet kiss on your cheek. You blush, feeling bashful despite how many times this had happened.

You turn to look at him, realizing that the way this home turned didn't really matter. No, what mattered was being with him, and if he was here, well that was a dream home enough.

A month. One whole month, but finally, it was finished. Well, okay, not totally finished, but neat enough for guests to come over. And that was just what was happening. Laurence, your brother, was finally making his overdue visit. You couldn't wait to see him. You also couldn't believe there was a time where you didn't want to see him, and felt better knowing that things were going right.

A loud, proud knock at the door jolts you out of your seat. Yes, finally, you were sitting on chairs and not boxes. You get up, collect yourself, and open the door.

On the other side is Laurence, his shaggy brown hair longer, but his light-blue eyes still as bright.

Before he can say anything, you hug him, hard. You can tell how startled he is, but then he eases into it, remembering how tight your grasp could be.

He smiles, "Y/N, it's good to see you."

You smile even wider, "I missed you."

He grins, "I did too, but I knew you wouldn't be too lonely."

You frown, and push him away. Although you acted mad, you were a bit glad he hadn't changed too much.

You pull him inside, and together, you, him, and Garroth waste the next few hours relaxing. Talking. Laughing.

That's when you realize something. Whether they were what seemed like a million miles away, or right next to you, the ones you loved would never be too far.

No, because no matter what, they would always be in your heart.

Author's Note: Aw, I'm sad to see this go. Truthfully, I never liked writing this, but now I realize how much I really did enjoy it. And, I hope you all shared that enjoyment. It was amazing to receive so much support, and love, and I can't thank you all enough for that. Side note, if you're wondering about the song above, it's where the title came from. I felt it was needed for the finale, too. Anywho, for one last time, thank you. May one day, our nonexistent crushes become real. -Kayla/Author
