I walk out of the firehouse after another shift completed. I'm so exhausted from last night. We had 3 calls back-to-back. I got to sleep maybe 2 hours.
"Hey!" Kelly's voice rings from behind me. I turn around on the side walk beside my car to see him jogging towards me. "Wanna go out again tonight?"
"I'd love to, but after all of those calls I'm gonna need to stay in for a night. Besides, it's movie night." I smirk as I think about my kids who are going to be so happy to see me when they get home.
"Movie night at the Westermore's?" Kelly chuckles and puts his arm on the roof of my car. "What's playing?"
I press my lips together. It's impossible for me to stop thinking about that heated make out session we had earlier. "We're going to watch Up tonight. It's the one movie that Emily and Scotty will both sit through."
"The one were the guy ties all of the balloons to his house and flies away?" Kelly asks with a smirk.
I nod confidently. "That's the movie." I lean onto my tip toes quickly and peck Kelly on the lips in one swift motion. "I'll talk to you later." I grin from ear to ear as he looks at me with such a surprised expression. "Call me, Lieutenant." I whisper seductively then dip into my car and drive off.
I can't suppress the grin on my face when I look in the rearview mirror and see Kelly Severide standing there, mouth agape, staring at my vehicle.
And in that moment, grinning from ear to ear, my world spiraled into another dimension. Or at least what feels like another dimension.
All I remember is the car in front of me and then I everything goes dark.

**Kelly's POV**
I watch as she drives away. Oh man I am so calling her later. She can't just kiss me then leave so fast. As I was her drive away, I watch a small car run a stop sign and dart right in front of Chanel's car.
She smashes the tiny car going about 40 mph and before I can even scream her name, my legs are moving. I'm sprinting as fast as I possibly can to the cars that are now crushed.
"Chanel!" I scream over and over as I race to the car.
My heart beat is still audible in my ears when I reach the car door and pull it open. Chanel looks up at me, blood covers her forehead. She cries and lunges into my arms. I wrap her up and pull her out of the car.
"Are you okay?" I ask while I pull back and look at her.
"I-I think so." She squeaks then looks away from me to the car that she hit. "Oh my God! Are they okay?"
"I don't know." I grab her shoulders and set her back down in the car. "Stay here and I'll be back."
Chanel sits there with a blank expression so I sprint over to the other car. I'm surprised to see Matt in the car trying to find a pulse on the driver. He's a middle aged guy and the passenger is a little girl who is unconscious.
"Are they alive?" I ask Matt as he looks at me. "The driver is but the little girl.." He trails off. "She's gone."
"What?" Chanel's voice is barely audible from beside me. "I killed a little girl?"
"This is not your fault." I tell her and I wrap my arms around her.
She buries her face in my chest and collapses. I have to hold her weight to keep her from falling down.
Everyone from the house comes and loads the man up in the ambo. They haul him off to the hospital while a second ambulance comes and takes the little girl in a body bag. I sit down with Chanel on the sidewalk. She doesn't speak. She just sits there with no expression on her face.
"It's going to be okay." I whisper and kiss her on top of her head. "It's going to be okay."
