I viciously stab my watermelon as I replayed the events that happened in English. After the little indecent with Cameron, I begged Mr. Weaver to let me change partners. His stupid response was, 'All the more reason to get to know him, maybe you guys will become good friends.'

As if I and Cameron could be friends.

"Hey Mia, are you okay?" One of my friends, Olivia, asked. I loosen the grip on my fork and gave her a slight nod. I was sitting at my usual table with Claire, Olivia, Joey, Scott, Gracie, and Aaron.

"Yeah Olivia is right," Aaron said while having his arm around me. "You seem uptight."

"Didn't you hear?" Gracie said. "Cameron Hasting totally dis Mia." I turn to Gracie and gave her an annoyed look.

"Thanks, Gracie," I said not hiding the aggravated tone in my voice.

Gracie and I weren't exactly friends. I tolerate her and she tolerates me. We go way back, all the way to middle school. She always made everything a competition. Like in middle school it was who could win the heart of Steven McCoy. He was considered the hottest boy in 8th grade and I was the one who ended up dating him that summer. Since high school started she wanted to beat me in everything. When I made the captain of the cheerleading team and she made co-captain, it seems to push her over the edge. She stops being nice to me and you could tell she did not like me.

"No problem," Gracie said while giving me a fake smile. Gracie was pretty, I had to admit. Her pale flawless complexion matches her emerald green eyes. She had fiery long red hair, which most guys found hot. To be honest I had no idea why she felt like she was in competition with me.

"What happened, babe?" Aaron said while looking at me. I look at the rest of the table and saw I have capture everyone else attention and was wanting for me to answer.

Great.

"Cameron just called me a bitch in front of the whole class," I said while replaying the events in my head.

"I'll kick his ass," Aaron said while standing up from his chair.

"No, no," I said while pulling him down. As much as I would love for Cameron to get punch right now, it wouldn't change anything. I turn to look over to Cameron to see him sitting at a table with a girl. He had his earbuds in his ears and I could tell it was making the girl upset because he wasn't paying any attention to her. She yanked the earbuds out of his ears, which seem to piss him off. He said something to her that must have upset her because she storms off.

"You know what?" I said while getting up. "I'm going to go talk to him." Before anyone could say anything to me, I already started walking over to his table. He had both earbuds back in with his hoodie over his head. He took a bite of his apple while staring at the wall. I sat down right in front of him and gave him a tight smile. He blinks a couple of times as if he was shocked to see me sitting there.
