"In three weeks is the Miss Westside High pageant."  Mrs. Adams said, a thirty-year-old teacher at Westside High. "We will have practice for the choreography every day after school, I expect you guys to bring your escort along.

Miss Westside is a pageant for seniors at our high school.  Its purpose is to show character and talent in the young girls of Westside High. I would be lying if I said I was excited about this pageant. The only reason I'm doing it is because of my mother. Back in her time, she was crown Miss Westside and expects me to carry on her legacy.

I already chose my escort. It is no other than Aaron Stanford, the quarterback of our football team.  People always tell me that it makes sense if we dated. He's the star football player and I'm head cheerleader. No, we weren't official. We just went to events and parties together. We occasionally hook up at nights I didn't feel like going home.

Aaron Stanford is the kind of guy you want to take home to meet your parents. He's smart, funny, and incredibly attractive. From his golden blonde hair with blue eyes to his perfect sun-kissed built body.  Just like me, he doesn't want to be in a committed relationship, and our hook ups worked out for the both of us.

"Alright, that's all I have for you guys." Mrs. Adams said. "Enjoy your weekend, and I'll see you Monday after school."

"Be Aggressive, B-E Aggressive, B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E, Be Aggressive." I chanted to our football team. "GGGGGGGGGOOOOO EAGLES!"

We were in the fourth quarter and we were tied 21-21. There were only a few minutes left on the clock and everyone grew nervous. I and the rest of the cheerleaders cheer on Aaron. It was the last play and it seems like everything slowed down. All you could hear was the blaring noise of people screaming and cheering on the Eagles. I watch Aaron pass the ball to Scott, and he took off running towards the field goal. Everyone watch him make a touchdown in the final seconds of the clock. The crowd went wild and the score went to 27-21.

I couldn't help the excitement that built up in me as we won the game. Friday nights were my favorite. I have been doing cheerleading since I was a little girl. It was something about the stadium lights beating down on me and getting up close to the football game. When I was younger I did competition cheerleading. We had a competition almost every Saturday and my dad was always there. Competitions were really fun, it was an all day thing. After it was over my dad would always take me out to get a cheeseburger and a milkshake.

When I started middle school things change. He became a workaholic and was hardly ever home. He didn't even come and see me on my thirteenth birthday. Mom didn't want to take me to competitions so she made me quit. So now I only cheer for the school.

My friend Claire came and gave me hug after we won the game. Claire is one of my closest friends I have.

"Hey, are you going to Scott's party tonight?" Claire asked as we gather up of stuff from the sideline and head towards the football players.
