Chapter Twenty nine – He must not die!

He was ahead, fighting with the leader of the Wart.

Both of them were screaming spells at each other.

Then for the shortest moment, Alex turned and noticed me. The enemy seemed to have noticed his diverted attention. Before I knew what happened, the leader appeared before me. I was taken aback and I totally lost all thoughts and feelings.

He pointed his wand at me.

Alex screamed.

"NO!!!"

Alex appeared in front of me just as the spell was casted.

The spell hit him as he teleported both himself and the wizard far away from me.

He fell to the ground.

By now, the rest of our army had all stopped in shock. They were all looking at Alex; at where he laid.

"The prophesy..." I heard someone whispered.

Alex was lying on the ground while the wizard standing next to him had his wand pointed at him.

No, I thought. It was not going to happen. Kaytherin had said that it was up to us to determine our fate. We could overturn the prophesy!

No! I was not going to give in to the prophesy. I shook my head.

No! I was not going to lose Alex to any stupid silly prophesy!

I started running towards them.

I heard Esther and Camus shouting 'No' behind me but I went on ahead ignoring their cries.

No! I was not giving up.

No! He must not die!

I ran towards them and when I saw the wand being raised. I screamed.

"NO!!! HE MUST NOT DIE!!!"

I kept on running. They seemed so far away!

Finally, I was close enough to see his sneering mouth.

I pointed my finger at him.

"REPELIMUS!!!"

He flew backwards, into the arms of his retreated army.

I kneeled down beside Alex and lifted him up in my arms. He was still breathing, but barely.

There were cuts and bruises on his face but he seemed to be very peaceful.

"No..." I sobbed uncontrollably.

"My child."

I looked up to see Kaytherin standing beside us.

"Kaytherin," I pleaded. "Please save him!"

She looked at me and shook her head.

"There is nothing I can do."

"Please..." I begged in tears.

"No, my child," she said. "Only you can save him."

"Me?"

She smiled.

"How?"

"Are you ready?"

I looked up at her.

"Love him."

I looked down at him and saw how much I loved him.

At that instance, I knew what I had to do.

I bended down towards him and kissed him.
