Morning Rush

Light started peeking through the blinds and I felt lazy. Four seconds later, I realized it was late. I jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom. Quickly, I washed my face, brushed my hair, and brushed my teeth. My biggest challenge was getting dressed. I settled with jeans, a purple long sleeve shirt, a white scarf, and purple wedges.

"Bubu! Get up and get dressed. I'm driving you to school." I shouted from the stair well. Should I make him lunch? I'll just get him something from the store. I went in his room and pulled out an outfit for him. Wait, what time is it? I check the small Finding Nemo clock that was on Tyler's wall and it read 5:30. Then why is the sun out so early? I thought it was late.

Tyler was just getting out of bed and he wrapped his arms around my waist. "I don't wanna go to school Sissy. Can I stay home?" Tyler complained. This little guy always manages to make me smile.

"I'm sorry buddy. You have to go to school. Tell you what." I started. " If you go today then I'll let you stay tomorrow."  I said with a wink. It's a good thing today is Friday and the weekend is right around the corner. Tyler's face lit up and he started jumping up and down. "Now go get dressed you little pest." Tyler ran into his room and slammed the door shut.

"Don't slam the door!" I shouted as I went to my room. My phone started to ring so I answered it without checking who it was.

"Yellow?"

"Hey sweety, is Tyler up yet?" I kinda figured it was Dad.

"Yeah. He's getting dressed right now as we speak. So I was thinking, could I take Tyler to an amusement park tomorrow?" There was a long pause as I waited for Dad to answer.

"Sure, I guess. Why not? Go ahead and have fun. ". Dad stated.

"Yay! Okay so do you mind depositing some money in my account? I'm running a little low on money. ". I crossed my fingers that it would work because I need to go shopping.

"Yeah. Oh I almost forgot the main reason as to why I called. Turns out we have to spend the weekend here. Take good care of your brother. Drive him to school at 6:30, they'll have people waiting for him there." Great! just what I needed. I miss all my social time in the morning.

"Will do Dad. Do you want to talk to him?" I asked hoping he would because they haven't talked to each other in a while.

"I uh, can't I'm busy." Yeah right.

"Alright, Bye. I love-" He hung up before I got a chance to tell him I loved him. This is really strange.

"Tyler! Are you ready?" I shouted.

"Dang Sissy, you don't have to yell."

"Oh I'm sorry buddy. What do you say we get some McDonalds breakfast?"

"Yeah!!" Tyler shouted eagerly.

I grabbed my bag, keys, and duffel bag.  I made sure to put Hope in her create since we were going to be out of the house for a while and would hate for her to mess the house out. I do plan on taking her for a run after school.  I killed all the lights in the house and made sure to lock up behind me.

I put Tyler in his booster seat before getting behind the wheel. "Ready?" I asked as I look back in the rearview mirror.  He simply nodded his head and I started to pull out of the driveway.

Tyler was in the back seat eating his hotcakes as I sipped on my coffee. I probably should have brought an extra shirt because the one Tyler had on was full of syrup. Where is the manual to teaching children how to eat like regular human beings?  I look back and him and then at my floors. AWE c'mon!  That's going to take forever to get out not to mention my floors are going to be sticky.

"I'm all done sissy!" he shouted as he threw his plate on floor of my car.  As soon as that plate made contact it took every ounce in my body to not to scream.

"I can see that. Do you still have an extra shirt in your book bag? " I was really praying he did so that way I could just wipe my floor with his dirty one and he can have a fresh one to wear.

"Mmmhhmmmm. " Tyler hummed.  I wasn't even going to wait for his confirmation because the moment of truth came down to me opening his bag and checking for myself.  I let out a loud sigh of relief as I saw a red long sleeve shirt crammed at the bottom of his bag.

I had to get out of my seat and move to the back in order to clean him up. I removed his old shirt and put his clean one on. Once he was all situated I walked him inside the school.

"Um, Hello? I was told someone was going to receive Tyler." The silence filled the large empty halls with the exception of the occasional beeping that was coming from a walkie talkie. Then out of the shadows a small elderly woman emerged with a warm smile.

"Ah yes. Little Tyler. Hello, My name is Mrs. Cruse." She extended her hand and I gladly took it.

"Hello, my name is Katy. I'm Tyler's older sister. " She smiled at me. I kneeled by Tyler and whispered to him. "You be nice to Mrs. Cruse. If I hear a good report from her then we can talk about ice cream."

"Otay. Can you get me chocolate sprinkles?" He asked.

"We'll see." I gave him a hug and said goodbye. I practically ran to my car because I need to get to school. My school was on the other side of town.

I was just in time and had 5 minutes to spare. Once I got out of my car someone stood in front of me, blocking my path. "Excuse me but you're in my way." I stated as I removed my sunglasses. To my surprise it was Peter.

"What was that, you skank?" He spat at me. Damn, what happened to nice Peter from yesterday?

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and if I weren't late I would definitely given him a piece of my mind. I knew it was too good to be true. Peter was the same asshole from before. I rushed inside the school and went straight to my Biology class. Before I even walked into the classroom someone tripped me making me fall face first into the classroom. I couldn't help but to turn bright red as everyone in the classroom laughed.

I look up to see the person who tripped me was Rain, she thinks that just because her Mom owns a beauty salon she's the shit.  She has also purposely gone out of her way to torment me. This girl literally woke up one day and chose violence. She really knows how to push my buttons to the point where it's just annoying. Definitely one way to start a morning.
