Chapter 2 - The Obituary

2200 Hours - Hereford, UK

at an office on the top floor of the Special Air Service's headquarters, the officer of command sat in front of his desktop computer, creating the obituary of his nephew's unexpected death and announcing that the funeral service to take place in a village in the far northern outskirts of Glasgow in Scotland. once he was finished, he paused for at least a while before sending the obituary to the past acquaintances of his nephew and including the men and women he assigned to accompany him during his time in Hereford. upon the moment when the computer confirmed that the obituaries have been sent, he shuts down the system before leaving the building and eventually returned home to pack up then leaving for Scotland

0730 Hours - MI6 Headquarters, London

on the following morning before the clock stroke 7:30, Harrison casually walks in to his office, greeting people on his way which was his favorite morning habit. upon the moment he entered his office, he turns on his computer and began his typical work day by checking his email, immediately notified that he recieved the obituary of the recent suicide.

"to whom this may concern, i have regret to inform you that my nephew, Riley MacMillan has died from attempt of suicide at the age of 16 at Fuefuki, Japan. those who have recieved this message may be invited to attend funeral service at Daithi Village, 30 miles north of Glasgow in Scotland. thank you for understanding. --Col. Michael MacMillan, 22nd SAS Regiment"

Harrison seemed shocked after reading the message and so he decided to take his smartphone from his pocket and call the chief inspector of New Scotland Yard. they eventually began discussing the obituaries they recieved. "so what do you think?" Harrison asked the chief inspector. "i think that we should notify Interpol and ask them if we can investigate what happened there in Fuefuki and besides, i know a young man from Lancashire who had a connection to the MacMillans, let's just hope that he's not busy" the chief inspector replied.

0800 hours - Lancashire, UK

on the very same morning in the british county of Lancashire, the sound of a modified Austin Mini Cooper disturbs the peaceful streets as the formerly race-worthy hatchback passes by with the flag of Great Britain printed on it's roof on it's way to the police station. as the Mini arrives and stops on a random parking spot, the driver of the hatchback casually steps out and locks the doors, the driver happened to be Evan Price, a 16 year old detective sergeant with blonde hair and with a kind attitude as he showed on his way to his office. after a brief session of 'good morning' greeting he suddenly starts up his computer, repeating the moment to the point when he decided to call Col. MacMillan, the nephew and guardian of the Scottish boy who was his friend since middle school in Hereford. it was a casual discussion regarding Riley's death and funeral which is to happened in 3 days and once the conversation was over, Evan felt down as he turned around and looked out the window. after a whole day of work, he decided not to go to the pub with his colleagues but to pack up for his journey to Scotland.

the next day, 0600 hours - Lancashire Constabulary

in an early wednesday morning at the Criminal Investigation Department office, Evan quietly entered to find a young white-haired woman working at her desk which was across from his own. "Shiomi-san?" Evan said to her, notifiying her of his unusual presence. "Evan-san? isn't it a bit too early for you?" Shiomi curiously asked him. "something came up so i thought i'd come in early and ask you a favor" Evan answered. "why? what's going on?" Shiomi asked him, "i have to go to Scotland tomorrow...to attend a funeral...and i was wondering if i can drop off Samantha at your place" Evan answered, referring to his cat. "i see...alright, i've been in need of a companion anyway" Shiomi positively answered. "right...i'm gonna drop her off at your place at...what time do you usually leave for work?" Evan asked. "before 5:30 in the morning" Shiomi answered. "okay...at least before 5:30" Evan said with a nod.

the next morning, 0529 Hours - Shiomi's House, Lancashire

as Evan arrived, he steps out of the Mini, holding Samantha, a female manx cat. Shiomi then opened the door for Evan whom is to guide Samantha to her arms, "take good care of her, alright?" Evan said to Shiomi. "i'll guard her with my life, Evan" she replied. and so Evan returned to the Mini and drove off to the motorway
