Chapter 8 - Endurance of Denial

0700 hours - someone's house, Fuefuki

following the night of a bad dream, Evan suddenly woke up with his eyes glowing yellow before returning to normal. "...w-where..." Evan quietly mumbled. "you're awake..." the woman said to him. "...y-yeah..." he responded in a quiet tone. "what happened last night?" the woman asked. "i don't know...i felt like dying at the time..." Evan answered. "i see..." the woman said. "i'm Fumie...Fumie Shirakawa" she introduced herself. "Evan Price..." he replied. "nice to meet you...kaka-kun" Fumie said with a giggle. "kaka-kun?" Evan asked curiously. "kakaku means price in japanese" Fumie replied. "that makes sense..." Evan said in a quiet tone. "anyways, i should probably get going...my colleagues must be looking for me..." Evan said as he sits up on the bed then stands up before leaving. after managing to escape, he began jogging around the streets of Fuefuki, searching for a route to Akazawa's house. Jack kept searching for him, yet he's always meters behind.

1300 hours - Akazawa's house

after eating lunch, Evan stood in his room and looked at the work table. it was covered in papers, folders and even pictures and notes. some of them happen to be about Miyuki and the male high school student, Evan sighed and sat down on the sofa then sighed. before he knew it, Akazawa knocked on his door and asked if he can come in. Evan had no choice but to do what he said, he opened the door for Akazawa then sat back down on the sofa. Akazawa looked at him moments before he decided to confess about Evan's parents. Akazawa explained that Evan's mother was killed in an accident and his father had to take him to Britain afterwards, the conversation regarding Evan's parents eventually continued until half an hour later when Evan had to leave to find Miyuki. it was Akazawa's chance to tell Jack about what he found on the work table and so he took pictures of the scattered items and sent them to the lieutenant who was already getting concerned of the scouse detective.

1500 hours - along the riverbank

at the riverbank in the town's flood plain, Jack was informed that Evan was found walking along the river so he drove and ran over to him with intentions to detain him. unfortunately, he wasn't able to do so as the two sat on a nearby bench to discuss about Miyuki. "you can't seriously just let her in your way like that, she's just dead weight to you" Jack said. "oh you go screw yourself, you just don't bloody understand!" Evan replied. "yes i do...the same thing happened to me once and...i never became a stalking creep!" Jack responded. "shut up..." Evan mumbled. "she's just going to hurt you!" Jack continued arguing. "shut up..." Evan angrily mumbled. "face it, Price! she loves someone else and you won't bother calling her A SLAG!!" Jack yelled at him, enraging him even more. "shut up!!" Evan yelled as he suddenly threw a hard punch at Jack then pointing the stained Webley at him. "ngh!...what the.." Jack said as he saw not only the blood stained revolver but also Evan's yellow eyes. "yeah that's right...this is what Riley had in his hand when he died" Evan said as he pointed the gun to Jack. "look...i know your father, alright? he was in the SAS" Jack said. "you know nothing about my dad!" Evan yelled. "he deployed to the south pole and stayed behind then they end up saying he got killed there, isn't that why you became a copper?" Jack asked. "....who told you all that...?" Evan asked. "Harrison and Field..." Jack answered. "stay away from me..." Evan said as he dismisses the Webley before returning to normal then walking away. Jack stood up then sat on the bench, thinking of what happened.

5 months later - Tokyo Metropolitan Police Central Office, Tokyo

five months have passed since the trial of Katie Tanner but a new problem came upon MI6, they were on a surveillance mission regarding DS Evan Price who hasn't returned to Britain since the incident with Lt. Jack Parsons. they eventually recieved information involving the mugger from five months ago that he has been placed under arrest in Tokyo for sexual harassment. a high ranking detective from London eventually came to the central office of Tokyo's Metropolitan Police Service. "DCI Philips, London Metropolitan Police" he introduced himself to the man at the entrance desk. "i'm here about the mugger who was placed under arrest for sexual harassment" Philipps said to the man before being allowed to enter. once he entered, he made his way to the detention cells where he would find the mugger, "you must be him..." Philips said. "DCI Philips, New Scotland Yard. i'm here to talk about your activities from five months ago. you do know a young girl named Miyuki Kizukinosuke, is that correct?" Philips asked the mugger. "yes..." the mugger answered. "so why were you after her that time?" Philips asked. "she had something special...some sort of power that lied within her..." the mugger answered. "i thought i'd have that if i tried cutting her and tasted her blood..." the mugger said. "but i heard all that power went away after a while...have you found out why?" Philips asked. "no...when i found out she lost those powers, i gave up and moved to Tokyo" the mugger answered. "i see...but how would you know she had powers such as healing and warping to her flat?" Philipps asked. "she is said to be an angel...sent by what we call...'Philemon'..." the mugger answered. "and you thought this 'angel' lives in Fuefuki?" Phillips asked. "they were just rumors, okay? i thought it was true..." the mugger answered. "in that case, i'm putting you under suspicion of attempted rape" Philips said. "w-what!?" the mugger loudly said in a very frightened state.
