"No no no!" I say over and over again in my head. "Your screwing with me...right?" I ask in an absolute trembling voice. As soon as Scarlett opens her mouth, someone begins to open the door. "Hide!" I quietly yell. We all get in to a hiding position. I grab Angel without waking her up and get under the bed Lucy was in. I covered Lucy with the blankets on the bed before doing so. The person walks over to the window and stares out it, completely ignoring Lucy.
I get a look at her face. She looked like she had been tortured for hours. She had cuts, bruises, and blood all around her body. She just stood there, looking out the window. I don't think she's a threat, I think she's trying to escape, like us. I slide out from under the bed and quietly lay Angel next to Lucy again.
I then turn to the girl. She looked around Lucy's age. She had Brown hair and almost snow white skin. Her eyes were brownish-pink eyes. "Hello." I say, looking at her. She ignores me and continues to look out the window. She looked traumatized. Like she had been to hell and back.
"Hello?" I say again. She begins to slowly turn towards me. I begin to slowly get ready for an attack. She faces me. I look into her eyes as she looks in to mine. "No more." She said softly. "What do you mean?" I ask. "No more pain." She said, backing up too the window. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not one of them." I say. Lucy begins to tussle around in her sleep.
The girl slowly walks over to Lucy. "Soo uuh, what's your name?" I ask. "Mary." She said. "Nice to meet you Mary, I'm Winter." I say. "Winter, that's a beautiful name." She said, in a quiet, soft voice. "This girl, she's carrying another life." She tells me while pointing at Lucy. "Yeah, so I've been told." I say.
Scarlett comes out along with the guy she was with. "Are these your friends?" She asks. "Yeah, this is Scarlett. I don't know this guys name and that's my daughter on the bed next to my love, Lucy." I say, pointing to Angel. "Nice to meet you all. Your daughter is adorable." She said, smiling. "I don't mean to interrupt your little conversation, but have you forgotten where we are?" Scarlett asked.
I realized we were still in reaper territory. "Alright, Mary, do you wanna go with us?" I ask. "My sister! I have to find my sister, Macy!" She said. "She's being held in the basement level." She said. "I can't just leave her." She says. "Ok, I'll help you get your sister back." I say. "Oh God, thank you so much!" She says hugging me. "Hey, we haven't gotten your sister back yet." I say in joking voice.
"Alright, let's go." She said in a serious voice. "Wait, your severely hurt. Your bleeding a lot. I'll go get her, you stay here and let these guys patch you up." I say. "But she's in trouble." She said. "I'll get her back, I swear." I say. "Alright, but please don't let anything happen to her." She said. "I'll die before that happens." I say, walking over to Scarlett who was looking at Lucy.
"Keep her and Angel safe." I say. "I got it." Scarlett said. I walk over beside Lucy and kiss her on the forehead. "I'll come back, I swear I will." I say. I then walk over to the guy, who's name I have yet too know. "Can you please patch up Mary and find some medicine for Lucy?" I ask. He nodes his head yes. "Thank you." I say. I look over and see the gun I took from the guard.
It was empty. "Here!" Scarlett says, passing me a pistol. "No, keep it incase someone comes in here. I'll use my knife." I say. Taking the stealthy approach is probably the smartest way of going about this. "If I'm not back in 2 hours, then get outta here." I say. "You better come back." Scarlett said. I quietly open the door and peek out.
I look both ways down the hallway. It was clear. I step out in the hallway and close the door. I silently begin too creep down the hallway until I come to a stop. I hear someone say "Danm! They've escaped." I know now that Scarlett and the others must go on the defensive path. I peek around the corner and see the men looking at the dead bodies.
I take this as my chance and dash across the hall to the elevator. I dive in it and quickly began scanning the button layout. I finally found the button labeled "BF." I click it and await the decent. The doors too the elevator close. I look up at the floor counter in the elevator. "29" it read. We were on the 29th floor.
The counter begins to drop. I feel myself get lighter. An intercom comes on and begins too speak. "All soldiers, the general has been killed! The new prisoners have escaped! Go on the offensive!" They say. Their going too start clearing rooms. Scarlett must know their coming. Finally, after a long decent, I finally reached the basement floor.
The elevator doors slowly begin to open. The doors fully open. The air gets so much colder. I walk out in the hallway and look around. It was as quiet as snow fall. The lights were barley clinging to life. I look up and read the signs. "Mourge" the sign read. I didn't know what it was, but that word didn't sound exactly pleasant.
I walk about 5 steps before I see a door, a few rooms down, begin too crack open. I quickly dive behind some type of bed with wheels. I peek out to see a gaurd, carrying a young, Brown haired girl. He was kinda dragging her by the back of her neck. He begins walking in my direction, towards the elevator.
I hold my knife, preparing to pounce. The gaurd walks past me and I pounce at him. I swiftly slash his throat. He hits the floor and begins rolling around, holding his throat. I stab him in the side of the head. He stops moving immediately. "Connor, report!" The man's radio goes. "All personnel, Connor has gone dark! I want a squad in the basement now!" The radio went.
I look over at the girl, who was passed out. I pick her up off the cold floor and hold her in my arms. She wakes up, barley. "Your...not one of...the mean guys, are...you?" She asked. "No sweetie, I'm here to bring you back to Mary." I say. She passed out again. I begin sprinting towards the elevator. I jump in the elevator and press the 29th button.
Surprisingly, we made it to the 29th floor with no stops. The elevator door opens and I begin sprinting down the hallway. I make it to the room where everyone was at. I bust through the door. Scarlett and the man immediately stop what there doing and aim guns at me. "Hold it!" I say. "God, you almost gave us a heart attack." Scarlett said. Angel was awoken by the noise.
I take my jacket off and rap it around the little girl. "We need to leave, now!" I say. "Lucy is still passed out." Scarlett argues. "Daddy? What's going on?' Angel asked. "Angel, meet Your aunt. This is Scarlett. I don't know this guys name, this is Mary, and this is Mary's sister, Macy." I say.
Angel was still dazed. "Scarlett, get Angel, Big guy, you get Mary and I'll take Macy and Lucy!" I say. They pick up Angel and Mary. I pick up Lucy and Macy.I approach the door and grab the handle. "On 3! 1, 2, 3!" I say, charging out the door. We all Sprint to the elevator. We all make it inside, Surprisingly without getting any heat. I press the first button and we begin our decent. Scarlett puts down Angel and takes off her grey back pack. It was more of a gym bag. She puts it on the floor and unzips it.
It was an entire arsenal of guns and ammo. "Take your pick boys." She said, taking out a chain gun. "Jesus Christ." I say. I look for a second until I finally choose the AR.15 with holographic sight. The other guy took a UMP.45 with an ACOG scope. I take out a vest full of ammo and put it on. She zips the bag up and puts it back on her back.
She then told Angel to stay behind her. I put the AR on my back and pick Lucy and Macy back up. The elevator door opens. We look in to the lobby. It was a ghost town. We bolt to the exit and run outside. We start running to a bridge right outside of the hospital. "Bam!" A bullet flies past us. We take cover behind a car. "Lets get em boys!" A man screams. A blizzard begins to kick up. This is going to be a battle of Snow and Bullets.
