We were in the house, well, my house where we finally settled down. My wounds were finally starting to heal. I was tempted to open the bandages to peek and see if I was healing, but I could still feel wetness coming from them. Angel has gotten horribly worse. Lucy is cradling her in her arms while she sits on the couch.

I'm sitting on the couch right next to her. I try to get up from the couch, but I'm instantly put to the floor by the pain. Lucy was in a deep sleep, so she didn't wake up. God, she's been staying up day and night with Angel. She deserves some sleep. I slowly rise to my feet. I grab my rifle and prop myself up on it. I then limp to the window. I glance out the window and see nothing but white.

The Blizzard was getting really bad. My head was killing me. "Clank!" A loud metal sound comes from the roof. "What was that winter?" Lucy asks with tiredness in her voice. "I don't know, I'm gonna go check it out." I whisper while grabbing my side. "No! Your hurt and not in any condition to move." She states. "You need to stay here and keep an eye on Angel. I'll only be a second." I say. "Winter!" She yells as I walk out the front door.

I limp out to the front and gaze on the top of the roof. I look to see a shadowy figure. It turns towards me and roars. "ROOOOAAAAARRRRR!" I know that roar. It's the mutated black out that was at the restaurant. "Oh God!" I think as it looks at me. The beast leaps off the roof and lands in the yard right in front of me. When he lands, the ground shook and knocked me on my back.

I quickly rise to my feet. I unsheath my machete and get in to a battle stance. My wounds are hurting like hell right now. The beast charges at me. I dodge it by jumping right. I then counter it by driving my machete through its back. I then remove the blade from its back. He swiftly turns around and grabs me with one hand. He then squeezes my body. He's slowly crushing me. One of my hands are free. I'm able to take my machete and begin slashing at his face.

I get seven deep blows in before he throws me into a hill. My body feels broken. He slowly walks towards me. "Come get some!" I yell. I try to rise to my feet but fell back down. I was bleeding. "Pow!" A gun shot goes. "Pow! Pow! Pow!" Three more shots go. Lucy was standing on the porch with my pistol shooting the giant monster.

He turns his attention towards her. He charges towards her and punches her in her stomach. The force from the punch was so great, it launched her across the street into a neighboring houses window. "Lucy!!!" I screamed. I get up almost instantly. I charge the beast as hard and as fast as I can. I ram the machete into its head. The blade goes all the way through and comes out on the other side of its head.

I then pull it out and begin to bash its head to bits. Finally, it falls to the ground, dead. I immediately dash across the street. As I'm doing so, I feel something running down my side. I've busted open the wound again. I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about Lucy. I charge the front door of the house and bust it down. Lucy was laying in the floor covered in rubble.

I rush over to her and feel her chest. "Thank God." I sigh in relief. She's still breathing. I sit down for a minute and catch my breath. As I'm sitting, I feel a wetness coming from my bottom. I look down to see a fairly sized puddle of blood forming. I'm alarmed at first, but then I realize it's just me.

I'm bleeding rapidly. I pick Lucy up and carry her back to the house. I walk to our bedroom and lay her down in our bed, beside Angel. I cover her up. She has no open wounds, just some bruises. I then turn my attention to my problem. I find my first aid kit and I'm able to swiftly patch up my wounds.

"I can't fight for a while." I say looking at myself in the mirror, covered in bandages. I turn around and check up on Angel. She's gotten horribly worse. "I gotta do something, fast." I say to myself. My adrenaline is going away and the pain is setting in. I find Motrin, but I mix it with some herbs I had on me.

Molly taught me this trick when I got sick and normal stuff wasn't cutting it. I go over to Angel who is as white as a ghost. I noticed her breathing is really heavy. Her forehead feels like a blazing stove. I have to help her with the medicine. I sit her up and help her drink it. I lay her back down on the grey pillow she loves. I then go to the kitchen. I grab a plastic sandwich bag and a cloth. I then walk outside and put some snow in the bag.

I walk back in the house and rap the cloth around the plastic bag. I go in the bedroom and lay it on Angels forehead. She looks near death. I refuse to let her die. How can I stop a disease that I don't even know anything about. She begins to open her eyes but she can't. Her eyes stay closed. "Angel honey, can you hear me?" I ask.

"Daddy, p...please....help me. It...hu....hurts." she says with pain. "I promise I'll make you better, Angel." I say. Angel passes out again. Lucy wakes up and looks over at me. "What happened?" She asked. "We took on a huge ass black out." I say. "Were you talking to Angel just now?" She asks.

"Yeah, I gave her some medicine." I say. "Winter, I fear for her. I don't think she has lo-" "No! She will not die. I refuse to let her die Lucy! That I promise you." I confess. Lucy begins to tear up. She comes next me and stuffs her face on my chest. In my mind, I don't know if Angel is going to be ok. I guess that's the one thing I'm good at. Giving false hope.
