Chapter 7: The Bloody Return

Bullets coming from almost every direction. They have us pinned down "Bark!" I hear. "Bark Bark!" I hear getting closer. I turn around to see a four legged beast pounce at me. I put my arm out over my face. "Agh!" I yell as it clamps down on my arm. I look over and see Lucy slightly wake up. "Pass me a shiv Lucy!" I yell in agony as the beast clamps down harder and deeper into my flesh, almost touching bone.

Lucy, with what strength she has left, slides me a shiv across the concrete pavement. I grab and position the shiv over the beasts head. I then plunge the blade into the beasts skull. The beast slowly falls to the floor and releases my arm. I'm bleeding rapidly. It must have punctured an artery.

I will die if I can't patch it up. I then realized something, I'm going to die. The reapers will take Lucy and Angel and..."No!" I say to myself as I pick up my gun. Lucy passed out again. The air was getting colder and colder by the minute. I had to get Lucy and the others some place warm, fast. I immediately notice a large van right across from us. It had "S.W.A.T" going across the sides of it.

"Get to that van! Now!" I yell. We all dash across the parking lot to the van. We get to the back of the van and open the back doors. We then all jump in. "Ok? Now what!?!" Scarlett screams while reloading her chain gun. "What's this guys name?" I ask, pointing at the man that's been quiet this entire time. "His name's Madie." Scarlett said.

"Madie! Get to the front of the van and see if you can get it running." I say. "I will, I know how to hot wire." Mary said standing up. "Ok, Angel, stay here! Scarlett and Madie, let's defend them while she gets the van started!" I order. As I'm about to open the door, Scarlett says something. "Hey guys, I found something your gonna like." She screamed. "What?" I ask. She holds up what looks to be really bulky clothing. "What is that?" I ask. "There's juggernaut suits back here! 6 it looks like." She said.

"What is a juggernaut?" I ask. "Put this stuff on and you'll find out." She said while putting a helmet on her head. I put the suit on and notice one thing, it's extremely heavy. "Here, take this." Scarlett said while giving me a gattling gun. "Hell yeah!" I say. Once we had our gear on, we stacked up at the door with me in front. "Go!" I yell, pushing out the door. We all instantly become bombarded with an army of bullets.

The bullets hit and bounced off of me. "I'm not getting hurt? How?" I ask myself. I wipe that question from my mind and focus on the army of reapers on the bridge. I aim the gattling gun at them and fire. "VRRRRRRR!" the gun goes. I tear the concrete cover they were using to shreds. They had no where to hide. They then back up to the other side of the bridge, out of my sight. I quickly spot the rusted support beams under the Bridge and open fire.

The beams crumbled and the bridge collapsed. All the men fell with it, and none survived the fall. Another army then came out of the hospital and opened fire. Bullet after bullet hit and bounced off me. I begin to feel dizzy all of a sudden. "Did I get hit?" I ask myself. I remember the wound from the creature was still gushing blood. I continue to fight. I turn around and see Mary, waving us down to get in the truck. We rush back to the van and jump in the back. Madie closes the doors. The van begins to move and eventually speeds off. I take my suit off and look at my wound.

"Danm, that dog got you good." Scarlett said. "Dog? Was that what that thing was called?" I ask. "Yeah, looked like a pit bull." She said. Madie gets up and takes the drivers seat. Mary comes back and sits down beside me. "Here, let me fix you up." She said, unpacking a first aid kit. "Oh God, thank you." I say. "Now hold still." She said. She injected a needle in my neck. I fall over almost immediately.

I fall asleep. I open my eyes, face down in the snow. I lift my head up and look to see my house. All the lights were out. The snow was coming down and the night sky couldn't be seen due to the dark grey clouds over head covering it like a blanket. I couldn't even see the glare of the moon. It was almost pitch black, but I had a flashlight that was clipped to my jacket. I don't remember switching it on though.
