I've been studying diseases and viruses best I can. Yet I can't find anything remotely related to what Angel has. "How do I cure a young musical being?" I keep pondering in my head. I don't know how Angels alive, its not possible to survive with that high of a fever. Lucy walks through the door. "Have you found anything winter?" She asks.
"No. I'm afraid they don't have any books on how to cure a ill music note." I say rubbing my eyes. "That's not funny." She said. "It wasn't meant to be." I say. Lucy pulls something out of her bag and tosses it to me. It was some type of small rectangular box with a screen. "What is this?" I ask, reading the writing on the back that said "samsung." "It's a phone. A cell phone." She said.
"What the hell is a cell phone?" I ask, examining it. "Befor everything went to Hell, people used these things to talk to people far away." She said. "Like a radio?" I ask. "Kinda, except this is a lot more simple." She said. "So I can talk to anyone I want?" I ask. "Not anymore. They were all connected to something called a "network". That's how everyone talked." She said.
"Sounds complicated." I say. "Eh, I got us all one. Mines black. Yours is white, and angels is Gold." She said. "Huh, neat." I say. "You can also read books, keep journals, draw, take pictures or videos, and my personal favorite, listen to music." She said. "No way!" I say getting excited. "Yup. Since we have internet here, we can go to music things on here and get songs and stuff." She said
"Wow, so how do I do it?" I ask. "It'll teach you how once you turn it on." She said. "Uh...how do I turn it on?" Sounding dumb. "There's buttons on the side of it. The small one on the right side is the power. Hold down on it for a few seconds until the screen lights up. The buttons on the left are the volume buttons." She said. "Oh." I say. "Here listen to these songs I got."
She turns up the volume and begins playing music. "Wow! It actually works!" I say. Me and Lucy begin to dance. The music didn't have any vocals. After that song went off, another one came on. Lucy began to sing. "I want you to know, that it's our time. You and me share the same light." It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. As Lucy was singing, I see a gleam of light out of the corner of my eye.
It was Angel. She was glowing. I run over to Angel and hold her. Lucy stops singing and runs over to her as well. "What's happening to her?" Lucy asks. "I don't know." I say, sounding scared. Soon, Angel stops glowing and lays there for a second. She then slowly opened her eyes. "Angel, are you ok sweetie?" I ask. "Daddy, Mommy, I think I'm gonna be ok. I feel so much better." She said smiling.
I feel her forehead and it was so much cooler then what it was. "Music! I'm so blind! That's how she's better. She can be curable by music! Why didn't I think of that?" I say. Lucy was hugging Angel. "Thank God, my baby's ok." She says. I noticed one thing though, angels eyes are blue, but now there grey. "I'm sure they'll turn back to normal soon." I say in my head.
The next day, I wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon and the sound of Angel playing in the living room. I'm glad everything is back to normal. I get up, get dressed, and walk in the living room. Before I left the bedroom, I grabbed the stuff I found in the woods.
When I walk in the living room, I look over to see Angel, playing with her dolls Lucy got her. I look in the kitchen to see Lucy cooking breakfast. She walks in the living room and kisses me on the cheek. "Good morning." She said with a cheerful voice and smile. "Good morning." I say back smiling.
"Lucy, there's something I think you need to see." I say. "Well? What are you waiting for? Show away." She says. I hesitantly pull out the revolver and picture. I give the picture to Lucy and she stares at it for a second. She almost falls to her knees but I catch her in time. Luckily, Angel didn't notice.
"Scarlett." She says covering her mouth, beginning to cry. "Winter, its my fault they took her. I was to much of a coward to fight them. She took so many of those bastards out, but it wasn't enough." She says, bowing her head. "Winter?" She asks. "Yes lucy?" I ask back. "Can I tell you about me and Scarlett. About how I lost faith.
