Rose's POV
I try to scream, but only a strangled sound comes out. A hand is over my mouth. "Keep quiet if you want to live, Rose." A threatening voice says behind me. I nod my understanding, not knowing what else to do.
The hand is lifted, but I am silent, looking around me at the stream I spend my time at. How could things have gotten like this? Everything was fine an hour ago.
*Flashback*
I am going to the stream! It's too loud here." I called to my mom.
"Okay. Be back in two hours." I leave and walk down the path that leads to the stream that I love so much. It calms me to dip my feet in there and let the cool water rush over them. I reached the bank and sat down and slipped off my shoes. My feet relaxed the second they hit the slow, calm waters.
Soon after, I got up, put my shoes back on and started to walk back. But I never even made it to the path. Hands grabbed my hands and feet, but I kicked with all my strength. That's when I started screaming.
*End of Flashback*
I asked the question that had been haunting me for the whole walk. "What is it you want?"
"I suggest you stay quiet and I might just tell you later." I fell silent, but wondered what was going on.
