Chapter 12

~~Carly's POV~~

I was leaning against the wall staring at the moon, remembering something about a promise and a tree stump. I looked at my hand and saw a small scar in the middle of it, it was there the memory but I just couldn't grab it.

"You're nervous." Lydia whispered and I turned to see tears on the side of her face, her makeup slightly running. I didn't bother with mine anymore, hiding myself behind mounds of powder and chemicals. "Aren't you? You know their coming."

He turned to face her. "You know they're going to kill you." She finished as he trapped her in the corner with his body. I couldn't help but feel slightly jealous he was paying more attention to her, why should I?

'Focus Carly, break through.' A voice said and I closed my eyes as my heart fluttered. That voice was familiar.

"Thats exactly why I'm keeping you so close." He told her and I opened my eyes to see her visibly shaking, her eyes stared into mine and all I saw was fear.

"Why? Why aren't you doing anything?" She asked me and It cut me deep. Why aren't I doing anything? He's hurting her, my friend I should do something.

"Don't worry about Carly, she's where she's wanted to be for a long time. You just worry about you." He moved away from her and came to me, taking my hand but hiding it from Lydia as he took my pain and confusion. "Remember how you said you owe me anything?" He whispered and I nodded, staring at him.

"I need you to stay with me, right at my side okay Sukoshi kitsune?" I nodded and he smiled. Turning back to Lydia who was staring at us confused. Why she's confused? I don't know or care. The voice that told me to focus had gone and for some reason that bothered me.

~~Kira's POV~~

I got out of Allison's car as Scott, Stiles and Isaac turned up in Stiles' jeep. We stood at the open front gate. I looked at everyone and I could tell they were worried about Lydia, I was worried about Carly. She was in so much pain and anger, she thinks no ones loves her and I feel so terrible for not noticing.

"We've done this before guys. Couple of weeks ago we were standing around just like this and we saved Malia. Remember? That was a total stranger. This is Lydia and Carly." Scott said.

"I'm here to save my best friend and an innocent girl from getting killed." She said and I smiled at her.

"I came to save mine." Scott said.

"I'm here to save my sister from a monster." I said and held up my sword.

"I just didn't feel like doing any homework." Isaac said causing a couple of knowing looks to also pass around before we entered the camp site. We saw my mother standing there with two Oni at her side.

"Kira, turn around and go home, take your friends with you." She said in her mother voice but nothing not even her could stop me from saving my sister.

"I can't. When I looked at the game I realised who I was actually playing, you." I told her and pride welded in her eyes.

"Call them off." Allison said drawing her bow and arrow.

"You think you can take him alive?" My mother said. "You think you can save him?"

"What if we can?" I asked. "What if it's the only way to save Carly?" Sadness crossed her face.
