Chapter 14

I stared down at my body as Kira cried, her head on my shoulder as Scott hugged her, comforting her. "God please, I don't want to die."

"Good, cause you've made quite a mess." A voice said and I turned to see the owner wearing jeans, leather boots, green button up dress shirt and my soulmates matching green eyes.

"Dean?" I asked in disbelief and couldn't stop myself running to him, into his arms that wrapped around me tightly. "Is it you?"

"Do you mean is it the Nogitsune's effects on you, then no. It's me, more like my soul but still." I pulled back and stared at the ground.

"You know about the Nogitsune?" I didn't look up as he spoke.

"I've been watching you since the day after the accident, I know about everything." I hid my face in shame.

"I've messed up real bad and I can't fix it." I told him and pulled away from his hold. "Please, I just want you to know I'm sorry for everything. For doubting you, for throwing away your tail, for everything." His fingers went under my chin and lifted my head so my eyes met his.

"I know, I'm not saying that it killed me to see you do throes things but, I understand. The pain it caused you to see me die, your soulmate, I didn't know it would be as bad as what it was. For that I'm sorry." A tear ran down my face as I smiled at him.

"I've missed your wisdom." I said causing his familiar smirk to spread across his face.

"Is that all you missed Sukoshi kitsune?" Unlike how the Nogitsune said the nickname, Dean saying it made my heart rate pick up and warmth spread through me.

"Well, that and beating you at every game we played. Other than that I can't remember anything important." I said putting my finger to my lip in a thinking manner. Before I knew it Dean was kissing me. The kiss was passionate, deep and held love in it. All to soon he pulled away.

"Carly you have to choose," I stared at him in a haze, the kiss still sparking on my lips. "You either go back to your sister and make things right or you stay with me, here, dead."

I had to blink a couple of times before speaking. "So I either go back to the world that hates my guts and causes me pain of I stay dead and 'live' with you in happiness?" I put quotation marks in the air around the word live making Dean smile.

"Pretty much." I turned back to my body to see Scott pulling Kira away from it. I watched as my sister crumbled in his arms, causing the boy to carry her. I couldn't help but run to her side. Stiles stared at my body, before reaching down and costing my eyes. I felt the touch and heard him whisper to me.

"I'm sorry Carly, this shouldn't have happened to you. I just want you to know I'll never forget what you did, that took strength and guts. Thank you for saving me, and everyone. I hope you find what you're looking for." With that he stood up taking one last look before walking away.

"You feel something for him and he you." Dean said.

"No, we were both effected by the Nogitsune, that's all." I said but Dean shook his head and held my hand.

"Carly it's okay, I want you to be happy. I want you to find love again, live your long life and do it without me holding you back. Promise me you will." I smiled at him as he knew the choice I made.

"I promise to think of you every day, I promise to always love you. I promise that I will live my long life happy and find love again. However I will never love anyone as much as I have loved you." A tear escaped his eyes he pulled out a beautiful silver chain. I gasped as it held two foxes, their noses touching and their tails intertwined.

"Please, you need to go before I never let you leave my side again." I moved my hair as he clipped the chain in place around my neck. "Just close your eyes, and imagine your soul knitting together with your body."

"I promise to never doubt you again." I told him as I closed my eyes and imagined what Dean told me.

"I promise that always watch over you Carly Yukimura, until your soul is by my side." With that said he kissed me just as I felt my soul knit together with my body.

I jerked awake and looked at the pool of blood covering my clothes. I touched my neck and felt the cold silver of the necklace Dean gave me. I smiled held back the tears that threatened to escape. All the pain I felt over this year has disappeared.

"For once, since the day you left, I feel okay." I told him, more like the air. I slowly got to my feet and walked home. I looked through the window to see mum, dad and Kira between them. All three crying.

I knocked on the front door and when mum opened it and saw me, she covered her mouth. "Hey mum." I whispered before she wrapped her arms around me and held me tight.

"I'm so so so sorry baby girl. My baby girl." I cried into her shoulder as she lead me to my family where Kira pulled me to her and we fell to the floor.

"I watched as you died. How'd you come back?" She asked and I looked at her and smiled.

"Dean, he saved me." With that I spent the next two days in bed recovering. I cleared out my wardrobe and repainted my room, getting new clothes and throwing away everything. Except the furniture.

The bags under my eyes disappeared, and my mental state improved. I went out and found Dean's tail, still in one piece, and brought it home. I was at school with Kira and made new friends, my grades improving and everything was looking up.

"I wish I could say something to him. I wish I could say something to all of them." Kira said to me and Lydia. "But I don't know how much space or time I'm supposed to give them, and I know I'm still... We're still just the new girls at school." Kira said and I smiled as I saw an unfamiliar face.

"Not for long." I said as we heard coach.

"Have you ever run track I mean you have excellent muscle definition." He told Malia Tate, the werecoyote, as they walked past us.

"I sometimes ran from cogers trying to eat me." She said and I smiled wider.

"I've had the same problem. So listen, we're going to start slow a few classes here and there. Don't worry you'll learn fast." He said as the girl smiled at us before turning back to coach.

"I intend to." She said and I knew she meant controlling her powers, not school, which made me turn away and laugh quietly to myself.

"We'll get along just fine Malia." I said to myself as was doing the same thing.
