Sorry, I keep updating late. I've been having trouble with the internet and the last two weeks have been hectic. Lol I tried new vocabulary then gave up halfway through. It'll also take too long for me to update.

(Luca POV)

I hear the quick pounding of footsteps coming up the stairs. Finally. Why didn't Nate hear me the initial time? The message is entrenched into my head now. My head is in agony. When I close my eyes, I can see the words even in the gloom.

One month. Last chance.

Nate shows up next to me within a split second. "Look at this," I mutter as I shake the piece of paper in my hand to get his attention. He rushes over and examines the paper.

He inspects me with a perturbed mien and licks his lips. "Where'd you find this?" He asks.

"Rain's room."

"Shit."

And with that, we sped out like bats out of hell. Instead of keeping everyone calm like we've been wanting, everybody just seemed to get worried with every step we took. We would rush into a room and leave. Whoever we ran into, we left them inarticulate. Even Nancy nearly had a heart attack.

(Rain POV)

The back door barging open catches Alex's and my awareness. We glance at each other as we sit on the ground, entertaining ourselves with the dogs. Well, we're actually just petting them as they lay in our laps. They conjecture they're lap dogs. It makes me titter.

The dogs weren't too fond of Alex earlier. I had to sit on the ground and pacify them to show that she was okay. I don't understand why the dogs like me, truly. They don't seem to be compatible with others as well as me.

The dog's heads pick up off the ground and their ears flick forward showing alertness. Pistol and Bronx let out a preservative growl. Axel just stands up from Alex in a protective stance. He's the only one that doesn't seem to want to oppose his owner. I know that none of these dogs would actually want to hurt Luca, though.

"What are you girls doing out here? Especially you, Rain. You have been only let out a week ago and our doctor told you to take it easy. Not play with dogs that weight the same as you!" Luca snaps.

Luca reaches for me roughly and I flinch. Pistol snaps at him as if he'll bite him. "Kaa, Pistol!" Pistol sits down quickly but growls and pins his ears back.

I stroke Pistol's fur and murmur, "It's okay boy." He expresses a puppy face and licks my face.

"Pistol, kata mkutano." Luca says, voice full of authority. Pistol moves off of me and sits next to me. I'm not sure what language Luca is speaking, but something about him speaking a foreign language that rolls off his tongue so perfectly, makes him sound so sexy.

Luca reaches his hand out to me, but I shake my head. I don't want everyone regarding me like I'm made of porcelain just because I'm hurt a little bit. I use my good arm to push myself up and carefully get up on both legs. Luca huffs in annoyance.

I'm not sure what Nate is thinking right now. He's behind Luca, but his whole face is emotionless. He's not even looking my way. His eyes are latched onto Alex. I watch as he maneuvers his way around the dogs and to Alex. He picks her up and takes her away, leaving me with a very pissed off man.

I gulp and I'm very sure the fear is evident on my face. My eyes flicker back to Luca and I can see his jaw tick. The dogs carefully make their way over to me and stand around me prophylactically. It amazes me when Pistol whines as if he was pleading for Luca not to do anything to me.
