"From this day forward you shall be known as Lilymist. We welcome you all as full warriors of RiverClan." Icestar yowled from her perch on the Tallstone. The Clan took up the yowling.
"Olivenose! Sunfrost! Lionscar! Lilymist!" The Clan yowled the new warriors names. Lilymist felt like she was about to burst with pride. She looked over to the medicine den and saw Owlheart laying there yowling her littermates names. Pixiepaw was with her yowling Lilymist's name. Lilymist frowned when she saw her parents. They were only yowling Olivenose, Sunfrost and Lionscar. She didn't care what her father did, but it hurt that Rainstorm wasn't celebrating her new name. She saw Grayheart approaching her and she sat up taller.
"Well done Lilymist!" The tom purred. Lilymist felt pride fill her at his praise. She knew Grayheart didn't give praise lightly.
"Happy to get rid of me?" She asked playfully. Grayheart shrugged then purred. Lilymist rolled her eyes. She excused herself and went to join the new warriors. Lionscar and Olivenose were talking and laughing.
"What's so funny?" She asked the toms. They laughed even harder and Lionscar fell on his back.
"The first thing Sunfrost did was go see Owlheart!" Olivenose gasped between laughs. She shook her head. It wasn't even that funny. Toms will be toms. She chuckled and walked over to talk to Brightcloud. She saw Sparrowleaf sitting with Jasperheart and went to ask where Brightcloud was.
"Lilymist! Congratulations!" Jasperheart purred. Sparrowleaf nodded to the new warrior.
"Thank you. Do you know where Brightcloud is?" She asked the two mates. Jasperheart shrugged.
"Probably helping Duskflower." Sparrowleaf nodded towards the nursery. Lilymist nodded her thanks and walked towards the nursery. She poked her head inside the tightly woven reed den.
"Attack!" Ravenkit shouted. She felt tiny claws on her face and she pulled her head back. She gently pulled the black tabby kit off her face. She rubbed her nose with her paw.
"Your name should be changed to Thornkit. You have sharp claws." She told Ravenkit. The small toms purrs shook his small body. He stood up and bounced back to Reedkit and Featherkit.
"I see you've already felt Ravenkit's claws." Brightcloud chuckled.
"He's going to make a great warrior." She nodded. Duskflower purred from behind Brightcloud. The queen stood up and walked to the two warriors. Frostkit followed her mother. Lilymist looked down at the small kit and smiled. The young she-kit was going to be a very beautiful cat. Her pale silver swirls got darker and her tail was rather fluffy. Frostkit was rather shy and reminded Lilymist of how Owlheart acted when she was younger.
"Congratulations Lilymist! Pass my praise onto the toms." Duskflower mewed. Frostkit leaped up and squealed. Duskflower turned around and hissed. Lilymist heard a frightened mew and looked over the black she cats shoulder. Cloudkit was crouched down, shaking. He had silver fur sticking out of the side of his mouth.
"StarClan knows how many times I've told you to stop pouncing on Frostkit's tail." Duskflower hissed. Cloudkit was stupid and spoke back.
"I was just trying to play. Featherkit, Reedkit and Ravenkit won't let me play with them." The young white tom argued. Duskflower reached out and slapped her son's ears.
"Don't talk back to me!" Duskflower quietly hissed. "Go play with someone else." Cloudkit quickly stood up and looked around. Lilymist watched him run over to Adderpaw.
"Can I play with you? Please!" Lilymist heard the kit squeak at the brown tom.
"Again. This is the third time in the past two days." Adderpaw sighed. Cloudkit was still desperate.
"Please! Duskflower did it again!" Cloudkit quietly wailed. Adderpaw's gaze hardened and he glared at Duskflower.
"Follow me." The apprentice mewed to Cloudkit. The white tom sighed in relief and followed Adderpaw behind the apprentice den.
Lilymist turned back to Duskflower.
"Why would you do that? He's just a kit!" She gasped at the queen. Duskflower snorted and bent to sniff Frostkit.
"He shouldn't bully those smaller than him. Now if you don't mind I have to check on the other three." Duskflower mewed. Lilymist looked at Brightcloud.
"She makes it very obviously that she favours the other kits over Cloudkit." Lilymist mewed to the silver warrior.
"He needs to learn." Brightcloud mumbled. Lilymist saw that it bothered Brightcloud, but she didn't say anything. Lilymist walked away from the silver she cat. She padded over to the apprentice den and looked behind. Adderpaw was sitting there, examining Cloudkit's ears. They were speaking quietly, but loud enough for Lilymist to hear.
"It's not fair. I'm faster than the other kits, but Duskflower doesn't like me!" Cloudkit cried. Adderpaw didn't miss a beat.
"She's your mother of course she loves you. If she does this ever again tell me and I'll handle it." Adderpaw mewed seriously. "I'll be like your big brother, ok?" Cloudkit nodded and sniffed deeply. Lilymist was touched by Adderpaw's protection of Cloudkit. Adderpaw was a rather protective cat though. She almost squeaked when she heard someone yelling behind her.
"Lilymist! Get over here!" Silverdust yowled. Lionscar, Sunfrost and Olivenose were waiting beside Silverdust.
"Tonight you will be guarding the camp while we sleep. No talking to each other. Lionscar and Sunfrost will guard the dirt place entrance. Olivenose and Lilymist will guard the regular entrance. Dismissed." Silverdust stood up and walked back to the bracken den reserved for the deputy. Lilymist always admired and respected Silverdust. Silverdust had been a warrior before Icestar yet she didn't mind not being leader. Silverdust had a good life before becoming deputy. She had two kits, Rainwhisker and Grayheart. Lilymist walked to the entrance with her partner. The air was getting cool which was a relief. The air during the day was humid and dry. Lilymist stood across from Olivenose and looked up at Silverpelt, which was starting to appear in the darkening sky. She felt a breeze start to swish around. "Have I made you proud Mintfur?" Lilymist whispered quietly.
