An hour had past. Too long.
I can't wait any longer; why does this keep happening? On my feet, I paced around. I can't sit still nor comprehend how Kagi for herself injured again. The time we were here recently, she was treated for the poison she used in our last mission.

"She'll be fine, excessively worrying won't be good for your heart." Dom said, "she's young."

"How do you know?" My emotions always gets the best of me when it comes to Kagi. Every time something like this happens, I just want to protect her even more.

"I'm a bit concerned about your relationship Karasuma. Aren't you supposed to have faith in your partner?" Dom crossed his arms, "death isn't always a conclusion."

"You're right, my bad." I apologized with a sigh.

"But I understand how you're feeling. It's more overwhelming the closer we are to our partners. I've seen my colleagues come and go, it's not always the same but you feel like it's your responsibility." He explained.

Listening to Dom words, he was able to calm me down a bit. It's true that the closer you are to someone you become a slave to your own emotions.

"Kagi and I have been together since we were kids." I brought up, "I care about her a lot."

From my words alone, even though they were my honest truth, my face warmed up. Maybe it's because I don't often share this side of me, especially things regarding Kagi.

"Ahh." Dom nodded his head, "then believe." He nodded his head with compelling eyes.

"Thanks again for keeping me company, I appreciate it." I bowed my head.

"Got to look after the kids after all." He chuckled and turned 180 once some nurses came out from the door opposite from the one Kagi was treated in.

"I'll have to deal with both your father's of course. To have her wounded like this and let alone a scratch, I'll be skinned alive.

"I wouldn't go that far." I shook my head with concern.

Dom took a deep breath and exhaled.

"You wouldn't, but they would."

<Kagi>
My body hurts. When was the last time followed through with a mission unscathed? I noticed that unlike last time, I was really out under with a drug. I felt dizzy and my vision hadn't restored.

"Miss Akabane." A feminine voice called me, "that's was a tough one. However, you're alright now." The doctor stood from her seat.
"H-how long...?" I asked.
"It's been two days, miss." The doctor replied, "you're slowly healing, I can't promise a fast recovery. I've advise with the department head and your caretaker. Your profile has been stamped until you get better. Until then, your excused from all assassinations called upon you."
"B-but-"
"It's direct orders." She repeated the grave news. "You're in no condition to carry out in missions. Your body has grown weak and fragile. Please don't ignore the basic needs of your wellbeing."

Of course, the sudden news struck me off guard. That meant no work, no Sarumi. Sarumi! With all that had happened, he slipped through my mind. I wonder if he's alright...
"Oh, by the way. Ever since you were admitted, Karasuma's boy has been visiting. If you stay up, he'll be here in 30 minutes. A loyal gentleman I would say." A little tease came from her.

"Stay still..." Ritsu held my face as she put lip gloss on my lips and added eyeliner. She frowned here and there, but managed to somehow make me look decent.

"That skirt..." Itona pointed out, "Nagisa, have you ever thought about becoming a girl?"
I glared at Itona and he awkwardly inched back. I packed my regular clothes away and fixed my hair.
"I'm going to throw up if that man touches me." I sighed and sharpened my blade.
"Hmmm? Doesn't Karma touch you all the time?" Ristu asked, trying to make fun of me.
"You know that Karma's a different case." I revealed.
"Hehe." Itona chuckled.
"W-what?" I asked.
"Nothing, nothing."
Ritsu held my hand and said, "but you do look beautiful Nagisa. Just like on the day of your wedding." As she reminded me of that day I wore that gown.
I blushed in response and covered my fave.
"Aww, Nagisa...you're too cute."

In the elevator, heading to Kagi's room. The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor going up. Someone came in and looked like he was around Nagisa's age, a foreigner.

"Hello." He greeted me in English.
"Hello." I said back.
"Do you work for the agency?" He asked again in English. I felt annoyed that his questions were surface based as he looked at my colored pin, on my collar.
"Yes. Assassination department." I replied.

As the elevator saved me, I made it to the 5th floor and he also followed out. Was he purposefully following me?
Down the hall, I made the turn and he did too, but instead, I noticed that he was going into the room two rooms to the left of Kagi's

He slightly waved when I looked his way and I opened Kagi's door. A strange impression...
Anyway, I did hear that Kagi had awoken from her sleep. So hopefully, she'll have the energy to talk.
I looked and saw Kagi propped up, sitting with her back against the board of the bed. She faintly smiled and I walked towards her.

"How are you holding up?" I asked.
"F-fine." She replied. She swallowed the words and looked apologetic. Like she was going to cry.
"I'm sorry...I couldn't-"
I got up and embraced Kagi as she trembled in my arms. Her touch felt cold...
"Shhh, it happens. We signed up for this didn't we? This is the dangerous life we live in." I said.
Kagi nodded her head and sighed.
"B-but I'm glad. The president and his daughter are safe. I'm glad..."
"You carried out your job, we get the money either way. You did your job." I patted her back.
I tried to lighten up the mood, she needed the comfort.
"We always get hurt. It's alright." I didn't know what else to say... Honesty, it's her 3rd time in the hospital this month. I'm worried about her wellbeing. Luckily, dad was able to stamp her profile so that she can fully recover.

"Guess you'll be working with other people." Kagi voice faded. "Until I get better huh?"
"Hmm?" I made a silly expression, "who said that I was working? Ah- well, I'm taking a vacation with you. We're both out of business for awhile."
"Wait but that means-"
"Shhhh, it's fine Kagi. Besides, exams are coming up. We don't want to stay back, now do we?" I brought up, "let's take some time off and live a little."

Kagi broke into laugher and wiped away the tear in her eye. "What's gotten into you? Your so weird." She covered her face as she laughed.
"Huh? What? I'm always like this." I joked.
"Sarumi Karasuma. You are an odd child."
"Same goes to the Unkillable Sniper."
"You're going to jinx me." She pushed me off the bed from where I was sitting on the edge.

"Well, starting tomorrow, once you're released. You'll be spending a few days at home. Then, we're going to go back to school. Sound good?"
Kagi raised her arms and gave two thumbs up.
"Alrighty." She gleamed.

Let's live normal for once.
