Time Skip: 2 years
<Kagi>
After graduation, I didn't know what I wanted to do. College was never really a thought of mine when I finished the last two years, since I left the MD.
As for Sarumi, when he graduated those 2 years back he continued his studies at one of the three campuses of Kyoto University. The day of my graduation determined what life I wanted ahead. Should I continue with school? Or go work immediately?
In any case, I still decided to work at a cafe near my high school. It was the first real high school job both Sarumi and I had when we left the MD. Occasionally, when Sarumi came back for vacations, he would work along side me at the cafe.•••••••
It was around 4 pm in the afternoon when Ruka decided to visit me at work.Ruka is in Japan permanently now as she is residing with her father, while the caretaker stayed in Spain. She's been here for almost a year already, as she is attending school herself.
I've always hoped that she would fly free from her restrictive life in Spain. I'm glad she is able to fulfill her new goals, even without a brother by her side."If you're not sure, then think about about a full time job." Ruka said to me as I was serving her coffee. "Why not try for KU and run after Sarumi?" She winked. "He must be lonely by himself. Plus it's obvious that he would be popular amongst the crowd too." Ruka tried to pinch my nerves and giggled.
I scratched my head and sighed,
"Hurry up and drink the coffee, you'll be late for your tutoring." I reminded her.
"Tch, it's so boring. I don't know why my father paid money for extra tutoring when I'm already learning the material at school." She planted her face on the table.I patted her back and laughed.
"He wants you to be successful." I assured.
She complained more and started to make whining noises until I gave into it."Want me to talk to your father the next time I see him?" I rubbed her shoulders as she looked up.
"Can you?" Her puppy dog eyes struck me off guard and I dug myself into a deeper hole, "yeah I promise."Ruka sipped the coffee and placed it down gently.
"But how are you really doing?"
"Huh? I'm fine." I said.
"No. Like..." Ruka frowned, "aren't you lonely without Sarumi?"
"What? I've survived these last 2 years, I'm perfectly fine." I pinched her cheek. "Besides, with you visiting me every shift, how can I be alone." I smiled and Ruka didn't seem to be content with that explanation.Ruka looked down at her cup and suddenly chugged the coffee and with exasperation got up and grabbed her bag.
"The next time you're free, we should do something fun." She reached into her pocket and I gestured my hand for her to stop.
"It's on me." I insisted, "hurry up and go." I added and she hugged me before she went.I took her cup and cleaned up the table.
"Hey Kagi, another table for you." My coworker tapped my shoulder as she was holding a load of brown menus.
"Thanks." I set up my table with a new set of silverware and napkins, then went on to meet my next guests. While I still do this, I still can't get rid of the lingering burden on my shoulders.
I took Sarumi's advice to take entrance exams for some universities, but I still don't know if I want to throw myself back into school.
It's not like money is the problem...
Who would of thought it would be a struggle to give up the thrill of assassinations.

<Sarumi>
"Hey, we should go for karaoke. We're all done with classes today." Sora, one of my Uni friends said, while we were at lunch on compass.
There was 5 of us, including me.
Sora, the one who likes to spend money and party. Kaito, the mom of the group. Hisoke, the reserved one who's a great cook, and Kenji, the body builder and judo maniac. Then there was me...athletically skilled, you could say..."What? Again?" Kaito sighed, "there's better things that do." He sipped his ice tea.
"Come on, I promised the girls." Sora pleaded.
"What? The new girls?" Kenji asked.
"M-maybe." Sora replied.
"You're the only one having fun. Hisoke barely talks to the girls, I'd rather go if there wasn't any gold diggers. Plus, Kenji and Sarumi both have girlfriends." Kaito explained. "It gets awkward for them.""They never say anything." Sora frowned.
"You force us." Hisoke spoke.
"Cause they don't want to make a fuss. But it's obvious by how the act too." Kaito shook his head.
"Tch...I just want to meet a nice girl." Sora laid his head on the table.Kenji took a bite of his burger and took out his smart phone. It was a picture of his girlfriend, which made Sora more depressed.
"Don't be in a rush." Kaito patted his back.
"I'm good looking, nice, and overall a good guy. Why can't I get a girl?" He complained. "Sarumi? How long have you've been with yours?"
"2 years." I replied, "I grew up with her as well."
"Oh yeah, you guys are relatively new." Sora popped his head up and clapped his hand together. "Can you show us a pic? I feel like you've never introduced us..."
"Now that you mention it, he's right." Kenji agreed, "but no one can compare to my girl." He added.
"At least Sarumi has decency." Kaito sighed, "but I would like to see a picture of her. We've never seen her before."Even the quiet Hisoke leaned in curious, as they all wanted to see a photo of Kagi.
I reached into my pocket and tried to find a picture. For the first time, I never realized how non-photogenic we actually were.
Maybe this one will do...it's the only clear one."Here." I showed them and all their faces took a slap of surprise.
"...um." Kaito pointed, "Why are both of you carrying guns."
All their faces mellowed into paleness and they all inched back. However, Sora looked like he had an explanation."Paintball?" He questioned.
"Y-yeah..." I re-examined the photo and forgot that I couldn't show it in the first place, and that I subconsciously did anyways. "She's really good."
"Oh..." Kaito sighed in relief. "Scared me for a second. Those clothes look like you guys could be in the military."
"It does, doesn't it?" Kenji agreed.
"Hahaha...you guys are too much." I awkwardly laughed."She seems like a nice girl." Hisoke smiled and got up. "It would be nice to meet her one of these days." He took one last sip of his drink and picked up his bag, "count me out of karaoke, I have plans."
Then he left. The rest of us sat there in a daze to what had just happened.
"....that was like a whole month worth of his voice in 30 seconds." Kaito eyes were wide opened and like everyone, shocked.
"He usually comments on things related to Sarumi." Kenji brought up, "thats why he talks more when he's around."
"I don't know if that should be a compliment." I sighed, but deep down I was kind of happy."So no karaoke?!" Sora said again.
"No!" The three of us said in a unison.
"Awe come on guys!" Sora tugged on Kenji's sleeve.
"We're leaving." I got up and grabbed my bag and gestured to the other two, to escape as well. They notice and picked up their bags too."Traitors!" Sora exclaimed.
"Sorry bro." I patted his back, "I'm a loyal boyfriend after all." I winked and the charm of it irritated Sora.
"See yah." Kenji left.
"Sorry Sora. And if you do go out, get back to the dorms safely. Bye guys." Kaito smiled and left."Hey..." Sora finally made himself presentably well mannered, "next week is vacation, we're heading to your hometown next." He brought up.
"Oh yeah..." the news struck me as I forgotten myself.Usually whenever we had vacations, we took turns to make plans to go to each others hometowns. At least this idea started the end of last year.
I get to see Kagi again.
